I found this guy in my backyard and I was wondering if you'd be able to tell me what it is. I found it in amongst probably thousands of others and it was much bigger than the rest
OH MY GOD THERES SO MANY. There’s so many. Where did you find that many??
The one you’ve got is an Armadillidium nasatum but the crowd looks to be a good amount of Armadillidium vulgares as well.
Alex describing his 30th birthday in a very nice low voice in Studio Brussel interwiev

OK SO first we have lobsters. Lobsters most commonly have a mixture of red, yellow and blue shells. It helps them camouflage. Blue lobsters happen when the lobsters are born with a genetic mutation, so the red and yellow pigments aren’t present. About 1 in 2 million lobsters caught are just blue. What most people don’t know is that there are rarer mutations, like orange lobsters where there are 1 in 30 million caught, and green (camo) lobsters where there are 1 in 100 million caught.
Female lobsters lay eggs every 2 years, and depending on the size of the lobster, they can lay 20 000 to 100 000 eggs. The females keep the eggs under their tails until they hatch, and when they do, the baby lobsters are left in an extremely vulnerable planktonic stage. On average, only 4 out of 100 000 babies will reach adulthood.
Lobsters usually molt once a year, but they can skip it if they’re in an unsafe environment, as molting makes their exterior soft, and thus renders them vulnerable to predators. You can tell if a lobster is about to molt if they start scratching at their shells. They’ll typically start eating more to prepare, as they need plenty of nutrients to harden their shells. When the time comes, they’ll exit through the center off their shell, and eat it. Much like a spider consumes its web after it’s done with it, lobsters eat their shells to help with the hardening process. Once theyre out of their shells, they absorb as much water as possible, and then harden their shells. Basically, how much water the lobster can absorb determines how big it’ll be until next time.
I meant to cover more topics than just ✨lobsters✨, but that didn’t happen lmao
THERES A RAINBKW OF LOBSTERS??? THATS SICK AS FUCK WHAT
i bet those shells taste good as hell to them tho. legit the much crunchy satisfying crackers on the planet. i think lobsters should get to eat their lobster charcuteries and drink their lobster wine while being vulnerable, like those middle aged white women, except instead of divorce they talk about the universal lobster inconvenience of only having 4 of your 100000 children survive the horrors
