Anne rice is such an ass. I’m surprised to hear that about robin hobb, you might find her books well worth it regardless, her character writing is above and beyond GRRM (whom I’m also not fond of :/ )

Naw, Robin Hobb will be dead in the ground before I touch anything she writes ever, I don’t care if she’s the best writer on planet earth, I hate her intensely. Stephanie Meyer is more deserving of my money than she is.

Among other things, she claims fanfic is identity theft,  a cake mix what writing is to cooking, and her closer is: Fan fiction is unworthy of you. Don’t do it.

And yet she’s fine with you displaying fanart of her world! So creating artwork around her characters and situations is fine, but everything writers do is garbage, got it. WHY NOT TASK ARTISTS WITH CREATING THEIR OWN CHARACTERS, ROBIN HOBB??? SURELY THEY NEED IMAGINATION TOO. 

And I’m sure all her sword and sorcery shit is 100% things she came up with, not playing on ideas she’s read and heard in fantasy wrought large. 

So yeah, completely disinterested in anything she ever writes, active dislike.
