Peter always wants to try and PROTECT people. It’s in his nature, he’s wanted to since the moment he became a hero. He’s already experienced watching someone get shot right in front of him, and he still REMEMBERS every single detail about it. The sound of the gunshot ringing through the air, the robber running away, Peter falling to his knees and sobbing over his uncle’s body, regret and GUILT coursing through his body. That was the moment he knew he had to step up, he had to use his powers for GOOD, had to fulfill the responsibility that came with them.

He never wanted to mess up like that again...and yet here he is.

He knows it’s coming, the hairs standing up on the back of his neck as he turns his head, and realizes the gun is pointed RIGHT towards Morgan. His jaw drops, and he wants to run towards her, push her out of the way and take the bullet himself, but he isn’t FAST enough-- only just in time to catch sight of her falling to the ground. He yells, before sending out a web to GRAB the guy’s gun, pulling it away from him. He wastes no time after that sprinting over to Morgan and falling to his knees beside her, heart racing in his chest.

“Morgan?! Morgan-- hey, hey-- you-- can you hear me?! Shit-- shit, I’m-- I’m sorry, I should’ve-- I should’ve tried t-- oh god, this is bad-” He’s rambling, fumbling with his hands to find the wound and immediately apply pressure to it. “Oh my god, oh my god, okay, you’re-- you’re gonna be fine, I-- I promise, just-- just HOLD ON, listen to my voice, stay awake, stay awake, please stay awake-- KAREN, call-- call 911-”

“That was-- um, crazy, right?” Anyone looking out for him specifically would realize that Peter WASN’T with the rest of his classmates during the attack on Venice, even though he’d just been walking around with MJ beforehand. A little strange, but it’s easy to put together an excuse this time-- he lost his friends in the chaos, and then ran in another direction. No one will question him about that, right? After all, he doesn’t really think most people pay much ATTENTION to him anyways. His hair is still a bit damp, and his head is aching after hitting it against the bell not once, but twice ( it’s definitely a concussion ), but he still manages a slight smile talking to the other next to him.
