"Emil," the boy's head lifted at the sound of his name, his hand abandoning his cheek in favor of resting it in his lap.

"The nurse told me what happened, are you alright?" Li joined the boy's side on the stiff bed, his expressionless eyes searching over the marks on his face.

He received another look in return, the bed dipping slightly as he switched his sitting position and leaned against the brown haired student. "Yeah, the fall wasn't too bad. I only ended up with a few scratches and cuts so it's not like I broke my arm or anything." His hand slipped over to intertwine their fingers together at the thought, happy that his boyfriend stopped by like he promised to earlier that day.

"You're lucky, it could have been worse. If it weren't for your brother-"

"I know," Emil gave a smile and gently ran his thumb over the small bumps of Li's knuckles, resting his head on his shoulder. "I already thanked him. He left just a few minutes ago, I sort of promised that you would be the one to walk me home."

Li shifted and placed a small kiss on the side of Emil's head, tightening his grip of his hand before he stood from his seat. He reached his other hand into his unzipped bag (he had a habit of never closing it), pulling out a bag of black licorice. "I bought some at the store during lunch break, I know you have a bit of an obsession with them."

"It's not an obsession!" Emil felt the tips of his ears warm in embarrassment, glancing to the side before he reluctantly took the bag from Li and mumbled a small, "thanks.." He hadn't known that Li went through the trouble of getting his favorite candy, then again, he had a habit of surprising him with those types of gifts every now and then. He felt himself being forced off of the bed by a pair of hands, the silver-haired student getting to his feet as he reached for his own back pack.

Li smiled and put his arm around his side as they walked out of the nurse's office together. "I may want to get you home before your brother asks why we were taking so long." They walked out of the building and began a steady pace down the sidewalk that led to Emil's shared apartment.
