au where the anime boy depiction kind of makes sense that i just came up with: jekyll is a somewhat rancid-looking anime dilf rendered in a realistic style a la the netflix castlevania series, and, when he becomes hyde, he suddenly turns into a cat-mouthed little chibi humanoid bastard in the art style of pop team epic. the stylistic dissonance exists in universe and he is canonically a short freak with eyes the size of dinner plates and a mouth shaped like the letter 3 and everybody else just points at him and says “what the fuck is that thing”. i just realized im describing the plot of the anime himouto umaru-chan but gothic lit. but anyways pop team epic hyde is the most important part here

kinda reminds me of my cartoon world jekyll and hyde AU in which jekyll is a regular human and hyde is like. your regular depiction of hyde but a Hannah Barbera cartoon, I guess, and none of the living cartoons ever question it.
