Let’s close out June 2019 with something completely different.  Arc Iris (Providence, Rhode Island) is a band formed by Low Anthem member, Jocie Adams.  I can’t say I’m a fan of Low Anthem, and I probably would never have heard of Arc Iris but I saw it in a “bargain bin” at a record store.  

I’ve been absolutely mesmerized by this entire album.  Over the course of the last two years my favorite musicians/bands have been Kishi Bashi, John Southworth, and Busman’s Holiday.  Arc Iris somehow combines those three and adds in a bit of Fiery Furnaces and The Divine Comedy.  

This was released back in 2014 by Anti-.

Ticket Taker, The Low Anthem Cover

Ah remastered and finished version of Ticket Taker i did maybe a couple of months back but only got round to posting on here now.

Really nice and soothing song to play so i hope it’s as nice to listen to, finally a song that isn’t quiet too. It was recorded on my old mic so quality isn’t as good as the projects I’m working on currently. But i think it lends well to the song and the tape crackle samples too. The quote in the interlude in the middle is from “Inherit the Wind” a great film from 1960. 

As always I hope you enjoy listening to it, please reblog or share if you enjoyed it, it does help immensely. I am now working on a full 5 track demo and hope people will receive that well. Videos for those will probably come out at the end of the year after I move to London and get in touch with a proper videographer rather than do it myself.
