38 - Would they prefer to attend a large party, or a small intimate gathering?

both could be enjoyable for different reasons, but lowell would lean more toward an intimate gathering. sometimes large groups can make it harder for him to focus, and sometimes in very large groups now, he just feels like he’s constantly scanning a crowd in work-mode. when he has time off, lowell usually wants to find ways to unwind and relax, and smaller gatherings would usually fit that bill and be more his speed.

23 - Public displays of affection - yes or no? Why?

lowell would never want to downplay or hide a relationship by withholding affection, especially if physical intimacy was something a partner needed to be explicitly expressed. so he’s all for it.

08 - Is your muse organised?

yes, and that’s out of necessity due to adhd. 

when lowell was younger he had to have his planner, which helped to focus his attention on daily homework and activities, initialed by his teacher(s). that was phased out in middle school to help encourage greater independence and also for lowell to find methods that worked best for him. 

the advances in technology, especially in phone apps and calendars, are what keep lowell organized now. he has a (small) daily to-do list he does every morning, uses fantastical to track important events, has a budget app, and a go-to productivity and timer app.

What is your favourite headcanon for this muse so far?

it’s mentioned in lowell’s intro that an accessory (and really one of his most prized possessions) is his father’s watch. it’s not a traditional heirloom, but it is one in lowell’s eyes. his mom gave his dad the watch as a wedding present, and the back case is engraved with two words -- i promise -- and their wedding date. guy then had each anniversary year added to the watch. the leather strap is worn in the perfect broken-in kind of way, and the times when lowell has slipped it onto his own wrist, he would wear it the exact same way his dad did. so while there are pictures of his dad, his dad and mom, the love letters his mom saved, the watch is just this tangible piece of his father lowell can touch and be connected to. 

birdie gives lowell the watch after they move to maine, when she thinks he’s mature enough to care for it (if he chose to wear it), and understand its importance. and lowell does, but the watch also, at first, exacerbates some of lowell’s struggles to connect with a person he doesn’t know but yet gave him so much (everyone always says how much he looks like or acts like his dad). but then the watch also provides that bridge for finding ways to connect and work through this weird level of what feels like, at least to lowell, some kind of unearned grief.

47 - Did you have a different idea of this muse before you started writing them?

i had a basic idea of the archetype(s) i wanted to draw upon for lowell, and while i’ve played other versions of him in other places, each interation always settles into a verse in their own way. this lowell is no different, and there have been a few changes and tweaks i’ve made that make more sense, and i’m looking forward to the organic ways in which his characterization will shift once the game kick offs.

33 - If the situation called for it, would your muse fight or flight?

it wasn’t always this way, but lowell’s learned (sometimes the hard way, too), that it’s better confront issues head on rather than boxing them up and away, so in most situations he’d like opt for the fight.

17 - Would you muse have preferred to have more siblings growing up than they did?

lowell’s parents -- guy and birdie -- had plans for a large family. birdie would have been happy with a basketball team (5), but guy was thinking baseball (9). in the end they got one, and guy was already gone by the time his son arrived.

when lowell was a kid he would have loved to have a kid brother or sister -- and eventually got the latter when chuck came into their lives -- but looking back on those years now, lowell thinks it was probably for the best in terms of his own needs. he knows he was a handful academically, and knows he only benefited from his mom’s full focus.

09 - If your muse could only put five items into their bag, what five would they pick?

five items lowell would like to find in a first aid/trauma bag 

personal protection (disposable sterile gloves, eye protection, etc.)

trauma supplies (pressure dressing aka ace bandage, wound packing, tourniquets)

bandages and dressings

activated charcoal powder

emergency blanket
