Day of surgery!
No eating from 6am soo pretty much spent my time sleeping and showering instead. Arrived at hosp at 11am and waited in the day surgery room. I was a weee bit teary when going thru the consent forms etc with the surgeon, it was all a bit overwhelming I guess! Into surgical room and the next thing I remember is waking up in the recovery room at 5pm -and wheeled into my ward at 5:30. My mum dad and boyfriend were all waiting for me and I was chatting away with a pain of 0/10. (Perhaps due to the meds and numbness?) I had these two wee drains coming from tubes either side of my neck area that were used to fill up with blood which I thought were greeeeat. Mouth was held in place with elastic bands to prevent my bottom jaw going back too far. No food today. Ps lip balm will be your saviour!! A dry and numb lower lip is to be expected.
