Summary: In all his seventeen years, Remus Lupin had never had a love story of his own. At least not one where anyone got what they wanted. He sighed, turning back around. “One letter. Twenty-five pounds. After that, you’re on your own,” Remus told her flatly. He knew it was wrong to mess around with someone's heart like that, but there were bills to pay. “Yes!” The girl pumped her fist excitedly. Remus tried not to be endeared by it. “You’re a pretty alright person, you know.” “Don’t thank me just yet,” Remus warned. “I’m not guaranteeing you a date with the bloody hotshot or anything. Just a letter.” She beamed even wider. “Just a letter,” she repeated. “Totally.” — How to get out of a small town: the story of a swot, a misfit, a burnout, & a business venture.
Comment: This was such a cute fic, I LOVE Remus and Marlene's friendship and the whole fic felt like I was watching a coming of age film (in the best kind of way)!
