I'm curious actually:

At what point is a Link a "Link OC" or "Linksona"

only if the plot/game they exist is fully original to the creator

OCs can have a "non canon" game attached to them, but not a Canon one

they can have any game attached to them, but if the events are altered it's oc

the visuals are the main point: if they look different from canon it's oc/sona

they're all sonas/ocs, Canon Link is only in the actual game

What are people’s preferred version of a sage Totk Link?

Time (due to flurry rush/time stop being the “innate ability”)

Spirit (due to Mineru guiding Link to the spirit stone)

Forest/Wilds/Earth (original sage, only one missing + name linked)

Some kind of weapon skill link/ Physical attack boost

Light (links with how Zelda’s light and Time are swapped, why wouldn’t link’s)

You can have one of the above options with different reasonings, just parroting some of the arguments I’ve seen for each of anyone wants propaganda!

Additional propaganda + clarifications

Time: sages can presumably be duplicated as the lore only states for secret stones that they enhance the users existing abilities unlike previous games that had the sages be more like guardians or roles

Spirit: botw link death and rebirth lends itself to a spirit and no Mineru descendant to inherit sage.

Forest (and shadow) are both sages present in ocarina (and some others) but are seemingly replaced by lighting. Serves to separate pre-calamity and post calamity link with their greater connection to the land (and serve as a parallel to the technology that allowed for their arrival) Also Link’s ability to see the korok and dragons, the legacy of hero’s being connected to the lost woods and the Deku tree.

Light: we see Zelda use light (sealing) and transform into the light dragon over a time dragon but her more “innate ability” that the stone encourages is Time. As a parallel Link could have flurry rush as an example of a time ability (similar to the sealing) but have light as the enhanced ability but would become a time dragon should the stone be swallowed.

Counters:

Time: Zelda is already the sage of time, the only example of duplicate sages we have is due to time travel and could be the only reason that this happens

Spirit: games have usually had spirit/shadow sages be sheikah or similar roles.

Physical: We only ever see stones enhance a users magic
