11 years ago today, 11 August 2014, FKA Twigs dropped LP1, her debut studio album that blends avant-pop, alternative R&B, and electronic.
Produced by FKA Twigs alongside collaborators like Arca, Sampha, Emile Haynie, Clams Casino, Devonté Hynes, and Paul Epworth, the record gave us the singles “Two Weeks”, “Pendulum”, and “Video Girl”.
LP1 peaked at No. 16 on the UK charts, No. 30 on the US Billboard, and quickly became a critic favorite, establishing Twigs as one of the most innovative artists of the 2010s.
