TAJH MORRIS and PHIL CHUNG are cool guys. Together, they DJ as SOUL 2 SEOUL (though they both DJ plenty on their own, too) and run their own imprint, Basement Floor, which, as with their sets, strives to revere the past as it celebrates the present. They cannily bridge the sounds and styles of years past with the energy of Brooklyn that fuels us all these days, LPH most definitely included.
Their two-hour-long LPH Radio session makes this abundantly clear, so sit back, relax, and let the good vibes roll over you.
This week's guest was WILL BURNETT, who often goes by WILLIE BURNS or SPECULATOR (though he's racked up nearly a dozen aliases during his career) and thrives on collaboration (he's been in about twice as many groups or units or outfits during the same duration of time). He's an awesome fella with a deep knowledge of music and one hell of a knack of cranking out primo material of his own, so it was a pleasure to record an episode with him. Lots of exclusives and unreleased tracks in here, so don't skip around! Instead, just enjoy all 120 minutes straight through!
This week's episode of LPH Radio is two hours of NATHANIEL JAY in the mix. It's awesome, so queue it up stat.
The 19th episode of LPH Radio is two hours of an LPH Records roster member and frequent party guest, MIC NEWMAN, a.k.a. FANTASTIC MAN!
LPH Radio's 13th installment features an hour of HENRY MALDONADO, a.k.a. SON OF SOUND, and another of LPH's very own NIK MERCER. Tune in!
This week, we're once again joined by a guest! Marcos Cabral, of Runaway, On the Prowl, L.I.E.S., and The Trilogy Tapes fame, came in to lay down about 70 minutes worth of tuneage! Not only did we have the good fortune of being graced by his presence and bearing witness to his impeccable skill, but we got a special themed mix, too! He decided to play New Jersey and New York house records from circa '88 to '92. Strap in for a fun little journey through those years as illustrated by the NY native, and then stick around for a handful of cuts selected by LPH's very own Nik Mercer!
LPH Radio has returned! Here's Ep. X, which includes a couple LPH Records premieres: Benjamin Damage's remix of a Luke Solomon track we're releasing next month and the Revenge's live dub version of COEO's "Sunkist," which appears on their forthcoming EP.
