Calvin Harris, the self-proclaimed Love Regenerator, is back Friday (March 13) with two new tracks under his alias of amore.
Titled Love Regenerator 3, the two-track EP contains "Give Me Strength" and "Peace Love Happiness," along with various edits of both songs. The first track is a darkly propulsive, gospel house-influenced peak time weapon, while "Peace Love Happiness" is a brighter dancefloor anthem that keeps the bpms high while a man's voice repeats the affirmation of a title for the duration.
Love Regenerator 3 is the third installment of Harris’ Love Regenerator project, which launched in January and has showcased a darker and more club-oriented side of the dance music superstar. “Hypnagogic (I Can’t Wait)” from the first EP, Love Regenerator 1, recently spent two consecutive weeks as the most-played record on the UK's BBC Radio 1. The past two EP’s have delved quite deeply into the alternative underground sound, whilst this one focuses more on house and is more consumable for the average dance music fan. Both the choir like and deep vocals echo throughout the productions, working seamlessly with the underground house instrumental.
This is definitely the best Love Regenerator offering we have had yet, the removal of the acid sounds has created something that whilst not commercial, undoubtedly appeals to a wider audience. The Acid Reprise of ‘Peace Love Happiness’ allows for the best of both worlds, offering a different version for the acid lovers out there.
