Lu Jong - healing exercise
Meditation Day 7 - upgrading to 7 minutes.
So 5 Minutes meditating is ok. I will upgrade to 7 (not jet 10 that's something I'm working on). The aim will be to meditate each day for 30 Minutes. 5 Minutes pass by so fast, I always jerk when the alarm rings. The challenge here comes with creating time to meditate. I got no time no time no time at all.
Lu Jong wise - I'm doing the exercises in the evening. In the morning I meditate. I feel like otherwise I will fall asleep if I meditate in the evening.
Health wise I feel better. Tremor is not as serious anymore as it was three weeks ago and I hope my doc will let me stop taking the medication she gave me. It makes me tired and depressed - not the coolest effect ever. Still I feel the trembling in my hands every second.
Lu Jong and my focus
I'm a TV kid. When all the others went to winter vacation in february I used to stay home and watched tv for 15 hours two weeks. Looking back this was crazy. But my mom was at work and my dad? He was unable to say anything. this led to me not being able to focus on anything for more than ten minutes. And while I overcame much of it, focussing is still not my strength and during a bout I am confronted with this lack to focus over and over again. Of course I focus on the game, but after the break it is hard for me to get back into the challenge mode. And beforehand I am focussing on my merch booth, my this and that, who is here? did I forget? do I? Will the guests find my home after the bout? Etc. Of course all things of value but unimportant during the game. I know I am capable of a many if I am challenged. But with derby I still seem to lack mental strength. There is a lot of fear, a lot of missing confidence that hits me on track. So I decided that this is something I need to work on.
I discussed it with the coach of the Munich Rolling Rebels, when she bench coached us and it seem to be a topic that every roller girl is concerned about.
So I downloaded Sports Psychology for Dummies - right I never thought I would read a Dummies book, but one of the Tiger Bay Brawlers recommended it in her blog, aside form another book so I thought why not give it a try. But as I am a very slow reader I thought I should take some immediate measures to be able to focus more. Yoga is currently not an option, as my shoulder is slightly injured, so while searching for meditation seminars i found one on Lu Jong.
A type of tibetan yoga that is good for self healing - hello good shoulder - and meditative. That helps your body stay fit and bendable.
I decided that until I am able to take the class I will meditate for 5 Minutes every day - I know 5 is not much, but as Leo Babauta always says, start with 5 minutes if you are able to commit to more then do so, but start with 5 minutes. And then take the class and do Lu Jong regularly to improve my focus.
