for ages I didn’t know there was a really a fan base for warhammer that I would fit into because I had ✨happy✨ headcanons about the universe and the only place I could think to post was on ao3 in 2024 when I first had my ideas for ocs in the 40k universe after finishing the horus heresy in full.

never could I have imagined that 1. there would be an entire community of people who liked warhammer on here (it seems obvious now) and 2. other people who also had ocs built around the lore and universe. I genuinely thought I was just a bit of a loser and no one liked oc content. I have been proven wrong!!

I’ve been part of a few communities on this site in the past and i can honestly say that everyone I have spoken with/interacted with/even just followed from this community has been amazing and are so much more supportive and friendly than I could have imagined 💕

so 100 followers is very small in comparison to others but it’s been less than 2 months since I joined and you all unknowingly got me through some dark times. I don’t really post my thoughts a lot other than random shit in the tags, they are all in drafts (because evidently, I do just harp on), but know that I am very appreciative of everyone 🥹

you ever think about how the places and the people you grew up are dying one by one and something is dying with them too. i mourn for the handpainted wooden rooster my grandmother kept in the kitchen i mourn for my grandfather's habit of untangling kite strings i mourn the old lady that used to sell candy in front of her house i mourn the stationary store that closed down. i think about my aunt with her stories of the people in our family, some that i never met, and i wonder just how lonely it must to be the only one carrying all those memories. she could tell me everything about them and i'd still never be able to reconstruct the sound of their voices or the smells of the kitchen they would gossip in. one day i will be just like her. clutching to a past that is dead. clutching to dead trinkets dead places dead people. yesterday i ate the caramel candy that used to be my favorite and i cried like a child
