Lubomir Tomaszewski with Eagle sculpture
Coffe set “Dorota”. It’s one of the most beautifully designed things I have ever seen. Polish ceramics designer, painter and sculptor Lubomir Tomaszewski started to work on this project in 1961. He wanted to simplify the traditional coffe set and make it fit a human hand. He won a gold medal on a first exhibition of The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design in 1963 for this project. He also designed another set named “Ina”, which you can see here. Both sets are still produced by Ćmielów manufactory of porcelain.
You can read about the artist on his website or here (in english) or in polish, here or here.
