lucathia: the other day, i saw a store on amazon called "taotronics" XD i was looking to buy some led lights haha.
D: PFFFFFFFFFFFT
D: HE WOULD NAME A BUSINESS LIKE THAT THOUGH XDD
lucathia: totally XD
lucathia: There's this character in utapri that looks a lot like Frankenstein
lucathia: I keep imagining Frankenstein singing
D: pfffft!
D: frankenstein singing perfectly
D: or singing/humming to fill the silence in the mansion...
lucathia: XD
D: also doing that in the lab for the same reason.
D: tesamu asking what he's singing.
D: also probably tao too.
D: ...
D: frankenstein singing/humming in the lab, and rai humming along with it on the other side of the house bc he knows the song too.
lucathia: Ahhhhh
lucathia: That's adorable
D: tao trying to use midomi so he can find out what the song is so he can sing along too
D: and frankenstein just looks at rai when he catches tao singing/humming the song
D: //looks up the series// ooooh my god, i can instantly see which character that is.
D: although there's two blonds
lucathia: ahaha~~
lucathia: there's one from the third season who looks a lot like him
D: XDD
lucathia: this guy
lucathia: http://utanoprincesama.wikia.com/wiki/Camus
D: AHAHAHAH
D: SYING
lucathia: look up camus images and you'll see him wearing a white suit XDDD
lucathia: suits make me think of noblesse too lol
D: CRYING OH MY GOD THIS IS BRILLIANT
lucathia: he also sometimes wears glasses
D: i can see that bwahahah
lucathia: XDDD
Me using Lucathia as a rubber duck this time. XD; Talking about how nobles grow, where noble babies come from, how nobles look the way they do, and the origins of humans. I might try to write this up again so it's all in paragraphs and flows better, but we'll see, haha.
Ronin T: WOAH MAI BLOB
D: hmm?
Ronin T: this is good...
D: What is it?
Ronin T: Your theory!
D: XD;;;
Ronin T: People USED to be werewolves, and as far as we know, were wolves are just hairier people with advanced healing and upped strength
D: Mm! And transformation abilities!
D: Which is why modified huans can even transform in the first place! They've got the gene there, but humans now need that extra push to be able to do it.
Ronin T: And then the natural timeline gives us enough time (so to speak) that the branches of humanity just break off.
Ronin T: Right.
Ronin T: As was mentioned, it makes sense for it to be a recessive "switch" gene.
Ronin T: Okay, then Lagus either 1) is ancient or 2) he used up all his power.
D: X3
D: So they can have use their power to keep young until they reach their limit of how much power they can train, and then start draining themselves.
Ronin T: AHAHAHAHAHAHA
Ronin T: Then based on that, Lagus would just keel over on his own.
D: Mmm.
Ronin T: HE'D BETTER NOT BE THE 1ST ELDER OR I SWEAR TO LORDDE
D: He DID go traitor at the end though, I think, or else we'd see his clan in the current gen? Except we don't know his Clan name, haha.
D: I hoooope he's not! D:
Ronin T: BECAUSE LIKE YOU SAID, THEY WON'T REALLY BE INTRODUCING CHARACTERS WE DON'T KNOW
Ronin T: HE'S THE ONLY ONE WHO JUST "VANISHED".
Ronin T: (along with Tesamu but who's counting.)
D: We still have one noble traitor slot left, but that could be Muzaka
Ronin T: yeaaaaah...
Ronin T: But I dunno, I'm hoping he's a wolf.
D: Totally. Or a werewolf-noble hybrid thing. 8D
D: (And the brother to M-21's heart)
Ronin T: WHAAAAAAAAAAAT
Ronin T: YOU SAID THE THIIIIIIIING
D: Hmmmmmm?
Ronin T: I had this weird thing where they'd at least TALK about where they got the heart from.
Ronin T: And if it came from Muzaka...
D: Or his family. ...That would be interesting if werewolves' regeneration were THAT good to regrow a heart, so long as something was breathing and blood pumping for him.
Ronin T: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Here is my gift for lucathia! Sorry its a little on the later side of the deadline but at least I didn't post after the new year!
When Yuuta woke up there was nothing that immediately indicated to him that the day was going to be different from any other. It was a Saturday, which meant no classes and lazy mornings. Yuuta rose late, the sun streaming through his windows and the birds chirping out afternoon tunes.
Turning over in bed he stretched, fingers brushing against the wall and socked feet sticking out beyond the blanket. Rubbing his eyes with one hand he yawned deeply.
“Kaneda? You up yet?”
When he received no answer Yuuta sat up to get a better look at his roommate’s bed. The bed was made, corners tucked and not a wrinkle to be seen like Mizuki had taught them both during their first year. His backpack still sat in the corner but his jacket was missing from the hook on the door.
“Right...” Yuuta said to himself, running a hand through his hair, “Well that’s odd.”
Of all of his teammates, Kaneda was the worst at getting up on time. It was always up to Yuuta to make sure he was out the door without forgetting his homework or his left sock. Seeing him out of the room already, on a Saturday no less, was certainly bizarre.
Swinging his legs over the side of the bed he snatched a T-shirt off the floor, pulling it on over his head. He shivered as his feet touched the floor, the cold of the linoleum seeping through his socks.
And then Yuuta noticed the muffin. He also noticed the note that was next to the it, but at the moment, he was completely focused on the muffin. Specifically, a chocolate chip muffin. And Yuuta knew from experience after disappointing experience that chocolate chip muffins were not the easiest to come by at their school, especially on Saturday mornings. Only the early-risers that attended St. Rudolph had the privilege of getting to the dining hall in time for chocolate chip muffins, and the fact that he had one on his desk, presumably left by Kaneda, was stunning, shocking, and a bit worrying. But, he was never one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Getting up Yuuta snatched both the muffin and the note, reading it as he took his first bite.
Yuuta -
Sorry I’m not free to hang out today. I had some stuff I had to take to a few teachers and I might not be back until a lot later. I got you a muffin though, so forgive me? Mizuki usually isn’t too fond of us eating this kind of thing, but I think just once shouldn’t hurt.
“Too late for that,” Yuuta said to himself through his second bite. Mizuki would never have to know. But Kaneda having to be out early didn’t explain why he felt he needed to give him a muffin. Especially a muffin that required getting up so early on a Saturday. Not that he was exactly complaining of course, considering the gusto with which he was consuming it.
Finishing up his muffin and writing it off as happy circumstance, Yuuta continued to get ready for his day. It was a Saturday so there were no classes or practice to worry about, and any homework could be safely put off until later. A whole day and nothing to fill it with. Maybe Yanagisawa was free to go out to the mall. He was never one to turn down a few rounds of one-on-one at the arcade.
Taking out his phone to send a message to his senpai he opened his door and stopped in his tracks. Taped to the other side of the dorm hall was a sign, written in big red letters on a piece of wrinkled graph paper.
FOLLOW ME <--------
Yuuta stood with his phone in his hand for what must have been a solid two minutes before he looked in the direction the sign was pointing. A few feet down the hall was another sign, in the same red letters and on another piece of graph paper. This one also had an arrow, but instead read:
YES, YUUTA, I MEAN YOU.
Biting the inside of his cheek in thought he looked down at phone then back at the signs. He still hadn’t sent out the message to Yanagisawa. And someone, maybe Kaneda since he’d been gone so early, had gone through the trouble of making these signs. And it was probably safe.
“Well why not, then.” Yuuta finally said to himself, closing his phone with a snap and heading towards the second sign. The second sign eventually lead to a third, which read “Its about time you got a move on”. The fourth “Even I don’t sleep this late on weekends”, and by the fifth he was growing more annoyed by these mystery signs that were leading him to a destination unknown. But eventually the snarky messages stopped and turned into arrows, which Yuuta dutifully followed down the hall and into the stairwell, out the back door and through campus to the tennis courts.
Stepping onto the painted concrete of the court it didn’t take long for Yuuta to notice the racket and basket of balls left at the baseline, along with a note. Snatching the paper Yuuta flipped it open to find more red letters, this time reading:
I dare you to hit me. Make me fall down and get the prize.
Glancing across the court he spotted a target hanging from the fence that surrounded him. It swung gently, tied on by a few pieces of string.
Yuuta had half of a mind to just call it quits then and there. It was his day off, and he wasn’t sure he wanted to spend it following some sort of cryptic trail to who-knows-were, and he wasn’t sure how many times he would have to hit the target to knock it over. Of course he could always just go and pull it down, because undoubtedly that’s where the next note or arrow would be, but he knew he wouldn’t be able to let himself do that. He wasn’t a cheater, even if there wasn’t anybody watching to know.
Stuffing the note into his pocket along with his phone he sighed, picking up the racket and one of the tennis balls instead. His knees bent as he tossed the ball up with his right hand, the left prone and ready like the rest of his body to strike. As the ball began to fall back to earth he swung his arm forward, the small yellow sphere connecting with the gut of the racket and precisely the right moment. The ball shot forward, hurtling toward the target and landing just left of center with an audible thwap. One string pulled loose, but the target remained hung above the ground.
Yuuta frowned, but picked up another ball regardless. It took him six more balls to finally get the thing down, two going wide and hitting the fence on accident. Leaving the racket by the remaining balls Yuuta jogged over, picking up the target to examine it.
“Well this is extravagant,” he commented as he found the small door set into the back. Someone had gone through a lot of trouble for this. Opening the back of the target he reached in and pulled out a brand new set of wristbands. At fist he regarded them with confusion, but in seconds his eyes grew wide when he realized that they were the ones he’d been admiring just a week ago at the sports shop - silver-blue fabric with two orange stripes.
Quickly tearing through the package he slipped them on over his hands, “Oh my god I can’t believe this.”
That day he’d convinced himself not to but them. They were over-priced, he didn’t need any more and they clashed horribly with the Rudolph school uniform. But someone had remembered, bought them for him, and stuffed them into this target.
“But only Kisarazu-senpai and Yanagisawa-senpai were out with me that day...” Yuuta mused, rubbing his fingers along one of the orange lines. Had one of them set this up? Or maybe both of them? He supposed the only way to find out was to keep following the trail. Reaching into the target again he pulled out the next note.
Good work! Now that you’ve knocked me down, maybe you need a drink?
To the water fountains it was then. Tucking away this note as well he headed towards the fountains that sat between the tennis courts and the baseball diamond. This was certainly like no scavenger hunt he'd ever been on before. Upon immediate inspection of the fountains he couldn't see anything out of the ordinary or strange.
Just around the corner of the fountain a splash of color caught his eye. Craning his neck to see his face split into a grin despite himself. Sitting on the ground was a water bottle, a string tied around it and a sticky-note on its front.
"Got you now!" Yuuta said, snatching the bottle up and tearing off the note.
A good reward, don't you think? Follow me to your final destination.
Yuuta laughed at the cheesiness of the note, tucking it safely away and taking a long drink from the water in the bottle. He had to admit, if this all ended as some weird homage to bad horror flicks he'd be extremely disappointed at this point. Nonetheless, he took the string in hand and began to follow it into one of the academic buildings, collecting as he went. Je didn't want to get yelled at for leaving litter all over the place after all.
The string led him up two flights of stairs and into a long hallway of classrooms. At the last room on the left he could see where the string ended in a knot on the door. From this point Yuuta's footsteps slowed, both in an effort to prolong his adventure and in a bit of apprehension. He wasn't sure who could be behind that door. He'd been sure that it either had to be Kisarazu or Yanagisawa, but they could have easily told someone who'd asked which writs bands he'd been looking at. So in the end, he really had no idea. It could be anyone.
Pausing outside he took his time undoing the knot around the door. He could hear movement inside and muffled voices but nothing clear. Yuuta wondered if they knew he was there.
Clearing his throat loudly the noises stopped almost immediately. Yuuta took another drink from his water bottle.
"Alright. I'm coming in now."
Getting a tight grip on the door handle he swung it open and-
"Surprise!"
-stood, baffled, as most of his teammates exploded poppers full of confetti in his face. Yanagisawa was snickering away as the paper scraps got caught in his hair while Akazawa reached for another. Desks in the center of the room were all pushed together, where Mizuki was sitting with his legs crossed and Kaneda was slumping, looking like he was trying his best to stay awake. From the other side of the room Kisarazu and Nomura were bringing over what was quite frankly one of the largest cakes Yuuta had ever seen.
Yuuta stood there, taking it all in, and when he was done looked at every single one of them and said, "Its not my birthday."
Akazawa burst out laughing, meanwhile covering him with more confetti. "Of course not! You think we'd be giving you this kind of treatment on your birthday?"
"In that case I can honestly say that I'm confused," Yuuta said, finally stepping into the room and closing the door behind him. He brushed some of the confetti out of his hair, "Seriously, what the hell is going on here? Why'd you send me on some sort of wild goose chase?!"
"That was my idea," Kisarazu said after setting down the cake, "My brother and I used to do them all the time when I was little. It was fun, wasn't it?"
Yuuta just shook his head, "Okay, fine, it was kind of fun, but that still doesn't explain why you're here covering me with confetti! Would you cut that out?!" he yelled at Akazawa, who was about to let another burst loose.
At that point Mizuki stood, clapping his hands together. Everyone looked over, even Kaneda who appeared to be on the brink of unconsciousness.
"Allow me to explain, Yuuta-kun," he began, arms crossing over his chest, "Today is the one year anniversary of the day you transferred into this school. Had you not come to St. Rudolph, our tennis team would be severely lacking in competitive power and…" Mizuki paused, a smile crossing over his face, "And none of us would have the pleasure of playing with you, and getting to know you as a teammate, and as a friend. So we are here to celebrate that."
Yuuta had no words. His feet were planted to the ground and his mouth hung open in speechless wonder. Nomura and Yanagisawa shared a grin before the latter clapped him on the back, "You look like you were struck by lightening, dane! Now come and eat some of this before I do it all for you, got it?"
Allowing himself to be led over to a desk chair he sat down heavily while Nomura cut the cake and Akazawa passed it out on paper plates. Every one seemed happy, and they were happy because he was there, that he was on their team, and he was their friend. Yuuta realized he was still holding the water bottle and set it down slowly, shaking his head and finally finding his words.
"I… Thanks, guys. I mean its all kind of weird, but it also means a lot."
His teammates all smiled at him and Yuuta smiled back, digging into his piece of cake. Chatter filled the classroom as they ate, mostly talk about upcoming matches and serving techniques. Kaneda eventually woke up and made sure that Yuuta knew he would never get up that early for him again. Somehow Mizuki ended up with frosting on his forehead, more confetti was thrown, and over all it was one of the best times Yuuta had ever had.
"So why the target practice, anyway," he asked when he was finished with his peace, catching a tennis ball he'd been throwing together with Yanagisawa, "Couldn't you have just left these somewhere for me to find?"
"Silly Yuuta-kun," Mizuki said. Somehow there was still frosting on his face, "You think I would have ever let Kaneda get you that muffin without some kind of counter balance?"
Kaneda groaned, the rest of them laughed, and Yuuta had never been happier.
