I wish that more people in alternative subcultures (and in general) gave a fuck about rap music ,,,

sooo many people dismiss it or even punch it down which is evil!! the way rappers have been memed to hell and back and turned into a joke is so gross

rap artists will pour their hearts out into their music and be joked about, called trashy (+ more), and generally insulted which is crazy . i dont see white emo or goth musicians being made the butt of the joke and completely disrespected ,, lets hold the same standards for other musicians and appreciate their work too

lots of rap speaks on racisim too,, to me it feels like people are making a joke out of rappers to ignore the actual message theyre trying to give out with their lyrics

it almost feels like joking about poc struggles at some point,, like why the fuck are you joking about kendrick lamar when hes talking about serious ass issues ?? why did the world meme him when he called out a pedophile ? why was he turned into a joke instead of taken seriously ?? just things to think about,,
