functionally, he plays the part of a third. under the logic that splitting emotional forces 50/50 will lead to stagnation, and a world with stagnation is no world at all. splitting it 33/33/33 however, leaves that final 1% to be fluid and change, for the forces to ebb and flow and have constant wiggle room for adaptation. a Third split means that the power balance cannot physically stagnate.
as a secondary role, he's their protector. their soldier as he grows. his life revolves around them, without them he literally has no meaning, no reason to exist. he is made for them, and everything and everyone else is secondary to him. they are what he lives for in all entirety :3
