Happy New Year!

I'm not sure I've mentioned already (jk) but my belovedest OC Lucien Devaux turns 10 this year!!! Therefore this year is very important to me. I WILL be unbearable!

In this last decade he grew really close to my heart and I hope to be drawing him more than ever and just not shut up about him. 👍 I will share bits from his "story" and creation phase and yap about him whatnot. I will make a year-long pretentious celebration! >:)c

So, as the new year starts, I wanted to draw his old self, his first incarnation from 2016 emulating my old style, and his current self. I have no idea what was up with me 10 years ago but i guess that's the beauty of growth and change! He wouldn't exist without his past cringe self... let's cringe together at our former selves... nya

His birthday is on February 5th but I couldn't wait until then to share this. I love him so... And that will only be the beginning! That's when the celebration starts... Until then it's just warmup~ Advent

Also, fun fact! 2026 will truly the year of Lucien, because!!! It's also the year of the horse. And guess who was born in the year of horse? Yeag. Holy shit. I chose his birth year super randomly. IT WAS ALL MEANT TO BE.

Wanted to talk a bit about the Lucienverse(tm) and I like to make things meme-y. Behold! The many shapes of my beloved.

So, I sort of have two versions of him, an "original" one and a TF2 version. As the art says too, the original is just his past self, some guy in the 80's indulging in his violent tendencies, being a serial killer living a quiet life in a crazy noisy bizarre random usamerican town. Why yes, I take pride in my originality! But he is MY edgy OC. #myedgyoc.

And the TF2 one is just him as a spy! What separates them is a few years of prison after mr. fuck around fucked around too much and found out. Now he's not so happy and careless anymore!

I have a bit of an TF2 AU with my best friend, so the setting is different (early 90's), the teams are made up of our own OCs and the administrator isn't canon either. We even made up our own explanation about the respawn and all. What if we took TF2 and made it our own... haha jk... unless.

But as I/we haven't been playing TF2 much anymore- and so there are not many moments at all to put Lucien in- I've been picturing him as his former self way more. Stupid old horror movies made me have this made up dreamlike USA in my head that I'm nostalgic for (I haven't even been there-) so I need him to live in it! The American Dream my style. #mystyle.

And yeah. The weird little girl in the corner who dresses like she's a character in Ginger Snaps is also him! #woke. I hope to draw his young self more this year (and indefinite future), too!

Happy birthday my love!!!!!!!

My blorbo, my man, my favorite character, my crutch, my light at the end of the tunnel...

10 years has passed since I've installed TF2, which planted the seed of creating my beloved spy OC, Lucien Devaux. I didn't actually start playing in February as a chronic procrastinator, but my mercenary badge doesn't lie. The date is forever imprinted in history!

And 10 years is a lot of time and people change, fictional characters change. So while he was born in TF2, he also became his own thing eventually. Maybe a bit too much! Goodbye TF2, hello my mind prison...

He has been a lot of things over the years, went through lots of trial and error and didn't really reach his final form until 2023, to be honest. But he has always helped me in some way; initially he was purely just a character I used to cope shit with, but he eventually grew into a full character who I've fallen in love with and who kept me going. DIY-ing my fictional other favorite character is my favorite hobby!

He's always meant a lot to me and so this date and year is very important to me. Out of my ~70 OCs, ~10 of which I actually care about, he and Rei are the only two who I can "sense" in my head, feel their presence, and talk to. :)

So, here's to 10 years, here's to him, here's to us... And here's to everyone who has expressed love towards him. Thank you. It truly means the world to me.

i first got the idea of trans lucien in 2023 when i was sort of reworking his past. there was one scene that only worked if he was trans and that scene really didn't leave my head (even though it's a very small detail that doesn't really matter lol), so i let the idea sleep for a year. but it ended up growing on me so much that in 2024 i officially made him trans! i love weird morbid angry little girls, especially so if it's my belovedest oc. <3 i need to draw his young self more! it's my favorite flavor of "girl"... especially after watching ginger snaps and having absorbed it into my soul lol. and yeah while i had an au like this in the past, it was really just "lucien but not really" as a young cute girl uwu without any depth. i'm so happy to finally connect them directly! weird girl to weird man pipeline. <3

I really love the cover of the album for Farewell, so I traced redrew it. I'm really close to playing it, and I can't wait! (currently stuck on 7C and I might do 8C as well)

I'm strangely obsessed with it. So of course I had to insert a piece of myself into it: my own OC.
