i keep thinking about how alfendi and lucy are so perfectly set up for a sun-moon metaphor about their dynamic.

i know the obvious, more immediate thought is that al is the moon and lucy's the sun; she's warm and friendly with a cheery disposition, while he's more secretive with phases and associated with darkness. but i think — and here's what i love about their bond — it works in reverse.

it's ALFENDI who's the sun; burning and burning and burning with life and for justice, always fixed on a single point, so bright it blindsides the unprepared and hurts to be close to. yet for all his temper, he's able to be comforting, helping lucy grow in her work. he's the lynchpin that everything else revolves around.

lucy is his moon: she reflects his own fire back at him so much she practically glows. she adapts to his intensity, distant but constantly present, no matter what happens. the main source of light in the darkness, revealing things that were hidden. orbiting the sun, pulled in by heavy gravity and pulling things to herself, never too far away.

Soooo for swap au, I couldn’t see Emmet not being a transmasc, butch lesbian. The Lucy and Alfendi sketches were something I’ve been meaning to draw for a while, I do plan on making more, perhaps not sketches.

Oh and I drew a bunch of characters in the bluey artstyle because why not

Lucifendi Headcanons

Alfendi is relatively wary about entering a new, serious relationship after Hilda, so when he falls for Lucy… he's proceeding with caution (he don't want his heart broken again, even when he knows what he should be doing)

Because of how Alfendi feels, Lucy ain't sure if he feels the same way, so she's hesitant on making a move. Basically uh, they're like this for a fucking while lmfao

Once they do get together, though, they're a couple of fucking DORKS who dunno how to properly communicate where they're at in the relationship! They somehow end up being on the same page despite that

People at New Scotland Yard aren't entirely surprised that it happened, but they don't say anything about it to them directly

While Lucy does get Alfendi to go out more—albeit by pushing him out—he still hates being outside. He's more willing if it's going to her place, though

Lucy has definitely asked Katrielle some stuff about Alfendi. You know, what he likes and whatnot to surprise him with gifts and the like

Lucy is Alfendi's first, despite what many people would believe. He ends up feeling like that just isn't for him, but that's fine—they don't need to do that to love each other and be close to one another
