If guilt could have a color, Avery would say it was blue. Deep and sober and steady blue. She felt guilt of having spent a week in this near stranger's apartment. It was decidedly unlucky that her car had stopped working and she didn't have the money to fix it. She had meant to leave, spending one night was more than taking advantage, especially with what had happened.
Still, it was nice in a way she hadn't been used to for a while. Two days anywhere had been the maximum, and then she was driving again. She had thought she had been taking decent care of her car, but it was on the older end. Maybe she had just driven it too much.
"My turn to do the dishes." She stands quickly, picking up his before hers so he can't stop her. She smiles at him for half a second before walking to the sink, tying up her hair before she starts. "Would it kill you not to keep knives in the sink?"
