“That’s right, Sumie.” Assurance clear in his tone, bolstered by the confident nod he gave. “Think about it. Most people, in the entirety of their lives, will only ever stand with their feet rooted to planet Earth, because it is the home of human origin. Some may leave its surface and find themselves on the moon, or in the space station located in a low orbit area of Earth.”

Still, though this might be a single step for man, and a great leap for mankind, and even though it was certainly a feat for mankind to be proud of, there was so much more out there. Territory only visualized by satellite imaging, never before explored or touched by mankind. Beyond that, there were uncharted areas, place that have not yet been discovered or seen with even the most advanced technology produced on Earth. There were entire worlds and entities and anomalies that had yet to even be dreamed of or heard of. But they existed regardless.

“There is so much out there. Out in the darkness. The unknown. Other life forms completely different than you or I. Alien entities, monstrous outerworldly creatures, complete enigmas we couldn’t possibly understand yet. It’s all out there, Sumie. There is no way we are the only life forms in the entirety of this universe and the next.”

⊰ ☥ ⊱ – The fellow mage smiled and hummed softly as she looked around the neighborhood. It was nice, quite upscale and very much to her liking. Perhaps if she were to live among this world again, she wouldn’t mind being here all that much. This was, of course, but a passing thought.

     It was a convenient route she had taken with Sumie. A nice neighborhood with beautiful scenery made for a peaceful trip to the bookstore where Lilith could spoil her friend with a new book or two. She certainly wouldn’t mind coming back again, too. Still, her gaze shifted away from the gardens lining the walkways and landed on the young woman.

     ❝No, Miss Sumie, I’m afraid not. My home is actually quite far from here. I’m more... rural than urban. It’s quieter.❞
