“… But… Why?”
Double love for kerrotko and lucklessladies, who both write fantastic characters. Kraken's Snape in particular stands out, with his moral ambiguity and his emotions being vividly rendered. And Tealil comes up with some very striking imagery in her writing, similes and metaphors and descriptions that stick in the mind.

@lucklessladies asked: Walburga looked at Narcissa and said: "I see darkness in you"
Narcissa turned slightly to the side, half her face lit by candle light. Hearing her aunt speak of seeing darkness in her didn’t surprise her. Her sister Bellatrix had a much more obvious darkness than her own but that didn’t make her own any less dangerous or any less real. She looked at her silently for a while, her blue eyes like ice as she did so. There was something dangerous inside of her, and it was hers to hide or expose.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about” she said simply, though her tone was too calm to not truly know what she meant.

"Gracious,” Theodora said, looking up from where she sat in the corner of her darkened cell. “Is this the Minister for Magic herself deigning to visit me? I’m honored. I hope you’ll forgive me if I don’t bow,” she added, raising her arms slightly so that her sleeves fell back, revealing the manacles on her wrists.
The whole situation was absurd. There were no laws saying that a witch couldn’t invent a new type of time-turner if she pleased, and surely Potter and his lackeys didn’t have to right to come barging into her home with their wands drawn. She’d only been defending herself.
