I am a total nerd of Team Miror B. and have been attempting to return to a Miror centric blog with tons of headcanon tacked on to the fabulous display. Seeing this blog and all its love for Orre makes me desire to come forward and ask: What are some of your major headcanons regarding Team Miror B? Their dynamics? Their motives? Their true goals? Their personalities? Tell me all! I want to know!
Hmmm well usually I like to make headcanons that stem off of what could be seen in the game. In Colosseum, Trudly and Folly are only half of Miror B’s original posse. Ferma and Reath was the other half, but they are absent in Pokemon XD for some reason. Needless to say, Team Miror B was far more powerful in Colosseum than in XD, but that was because they were still serving under Cipher.
In Colosseum, Miror B. is an enthusiastic overseer who’s hubris was always his weakness. Trudly and Folly are loyal members of his posse who have stuck with him for years after Colosseum, but at the cost of becoming a nomadic tribe of three for an unknown period of time. The two were last seen hiding out in the Mayor’s office in Phenac City after escaping Pyrite Town’s jail, while Miror B. is last seen in the Deep Colosseum, hiding behind knockout challenges with the rest of the Cipher Admins. Even more obscure than them however, Reath and Ferma were left hiding out in Miror B’s old hideout in Pyrite Cave, driving out the optional boss fight with Mirakle B too.
At some point Miror B. must have reunited himself with Trudly and Folly after escaping to the surface, or Trudly and Folly must have searched and found Miror B. themselves. Given Miror B.’s style of dancing alone, it’s a likely possibility that they found him first before or after the Under was sealed. We don’t know where Reath or Ferma could have gone, but neither do we know about the rest of the admins. We only know that Evice and Nascour were likely sent to a prison as stated by an NPC in XD.
In XD it can be seen that Miror B. tends to do his own thing like a loose cannon. More often than not, Trudly and Folly struggle to keep up with him and his antics, so much so that they even made the Miror B. Radar to track his whereabouts and be warned when he surfaces again. But when they immediately lost the radar, they had to work double time to keep up with the agile boss.
Despite their loyalty though, it would seem Folly was starting to see the folly of their boss’s dream at some point during their escapades in XD.
Trudley stays loyal to Miror B.’s dream, but Folly seems to make sense of the futility of actually attempting to own all the Pokemon in the world and worries about his own future if he continues following Miror B.
Despite this, he continues to remain loyal to Miror B. down to the end and beyond once the last Shadow Pokemon has been snagged. Folly is obviously the more reasonable of the group while Trudly isn’t as easily phased by such logic.
With every Pokemon they managed to get, they seem to be only capable of nabbing the Shadow Pokemon Michael failed to snag initially. Though it could be attributed that Miror B’s Jumpluff, Shiftry, and Non-Shadow Sudowoodo were caught Orre’s improved Wild environments in XD, the Pokespots.
One hilarious detail around Miror B, he geniunely believes his dance will bring around all the Pokemon
I don’t have a screen, but if you encounter Miror B. at the Oasis Pokespot, Trudley or Folly will tell you not to disturb Miror B. as he dances to summon Wild Pokemon to his presence. You will also get to know that they occasionally have to eat some of the Poke Snacks people leave at the spots because they get so hungry and are usually low on money.
Listen, if you have ever watched the Pokemon Anime as I have back when I used to like it (long time ago), you can easily compare the Team Rocket trio to Team Miror B. here. Whatever menace they were when they premiered is long gone, and they are seen more as those dastardly Kid’s TV show villains you can’t help but love and relate to on some level. They travel together, one of them is the mascot and brains of the group most of the time, they struggle together and clumsily lose most of their progress in whatever mission they have but they are still close as the three musketeers. Even in failure they remain together in each other’s support. You can definitely compare Team Miror B to the anime’s Team Rocket.
Miror B. may have only wanted to dance to an audience all this time. He is ironically the most useful character in XD for catching what Michael fails to Snag the first time. Odd that he would be able to get these Shadow Pokemon so easily, but given how the Purify Chamber works with upbeat tempos and a rhythm with Pokemon in their own “party” of sorts surrounding a Shadow Pokemon affecting them with pleasant feelings to open their heart, it could be theorized that Miror B’s own music and dancing was what attracted these feral Shadow Pokemon to him in the first place. Miror B’s dancing and music might have emulated what the Purify Chamber provided on some level, But how could they know that the Pokemon they were catching were Shadow Pokemon in the first place? Neither Miror B, nor his posse, have an Aura Reader or some girl with clairvoyant sight. To them, Miror B’s dancing really did bring Wild Pokemon to their fold unbeknownst to what they were actually catching.
Though they probably did realize at some point that they were catching runaway Shadow Pokemon. Miror B and Folly raided the Cipher Key Lair to obtain the last authentic Shadow Pokemon, Dragonite, knowing full well what it was. And took the time to celebrate on Gateon Port’s lighthouse for their powerful catch from the remnants of the syndicate they used to work for. They celebrate their small victories together even though their losses greatly outnumbered their gains.
That is what I think of these three. Miror B. is ambitious and his dreams are as big as his afro. Trudley is loyal, so is Folly but he can’t not think about the repercussions of the future. Though as of where he last saw them, they seem content staying at the Krabby Club.
Arakni best boi. I just really love his personality and his design. And I'm still not over being a blind durp and thinking his second mouth was a headband for so long.
