Talk about a rough 24 hours…! This tawny owl was found, flapping, in the middle of a very busy road, by Adam - WAF camerawoman, Abbey's, husband. The owl had struck an overhead power line and fallen into the path of an oncoming lorry! Miraculously, an X-ray confirmed that this stunning bird had escaped any broken bones. However, upon closer inspection, Maru found a collection of blood inside the owl’s left eye. Although it is proven that owls are able to survive in the wild with only one eye, if there is even a small chance that the eye can be saved, Maru and the team will do their very best to aid the restoration of full vision. In an attempt to do this, the tawny has now been placed on a course of antibiotics, painkillers and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Only time will tell if the eye will recover, but, for now, this beautiful bird will spend time in one of our silent units, while it recovers from its traumatic experience. #tawny #owl #rescue #luckyescape #wildlife #animals #bop #birdofprey #RTC #powerlines @rightthisminute https://www.instagram.com/p/B2QwYKnAjq8/?igshid=102benaypgph3
