The local.

Another one bites the dust. This one was very local. So local that I managed to do some vvery quick connections based on things he shared. His daughter was the same age as my son and I found connections via the power of social media!

Then I did a bit of stalking, not something I approve of really, but I'm glad I did. I found out that someone I know, knew his ex. I asked her what she knew. She was reticent and clear that she had just heard rumours, but she felt he was a wrongun and I could do better.

I felt I wanted to just explore the situation a bit more and carried on chatting a bit. Then I asked the question,

'How do you get on with your ex?'

Immediately defensive, he asked why I'd want to know. I just said I was just wondering.

Never heard from him again. Hmmmm. Something to hide mate? Thank you my friend, you know who you are!

The welder.

So the most recent has been a welder from the North! Not GoT North, just north of Blackpool. Chatty and quite funny. Sent me a pic of himself lounging in his bed, up against a radiator! I didn't really know what to say so I just said I thought the radiator looked a bit uncomfy! I feel I may be turning into Victoria Wood. I just dont find any of this very sexy!

Needless to say we had some chats and as he was working quite close by we agreed to meet for a drink the next day. There was a festival going on so I felt quite safe meeting in a busy place for a drink.

He drove a fancy car and I met him nearby. We chatted over a couple of drinks, and though he was rough and ready, I thought he was ok. I was wearing quite a long skirt and somehow it got stuck in a nail on the chair. I tried to discretely remove it, but it was right by my thigh, I kept trying to gently release it. Not budging. Eventually I had to say that my skirt was stuck! I think he was relieved because he had thought I was scratching my bum!

We chatted over the next couple of days, and I thought maybe I'd meet him again, knowing he would be heading oop north again soon, that it was just a bit of company. Then he asked me a pretty rude question that came through whilst I was at work! Eek! Nah, not sure this one is for me!

Suddenly I have found myself to be a bit busy!!

My new life as an online dater is proving to be hilarious - for everyone else!

N) Nice guy, has potential, he is busy busy, so we may come back to it, however, he DID ask me what size I am. When I said 16-18 he said, 'Oh, I've never been with someone so big! You might find me small!' 🙄🤐

Maybe that's why he is busy? I should have said, 'you dont know what you're missing!' But I was too busy trying to understand his accent, yes he wanted to talk properly, not text!

M) Just wants to meet in a car mid way between my town and his for a bit of rumpy pump! Um nope thanks!

Him: where are you from?

Me: ......, You?

Him: ....... What do you want from this?

Me: Oh you know get to know each other, see what happens.

Him I am married overseas, I want a lover here.

Me: Ah ok, not my bag sorry. Good luck with that!

Ready, set, go!

After just over 2 years over singledom I decided to give online dating a go. After all, I had heard of some great success stories, my sister married her online date!

The first dilemma was which of the very, very many sites to use. I decided to try Hinge, one I hadn't heard of but seemed quite grown up (like me, of course!), and it was free. I am not going to spend money on these things!

There seemed to be a way of swiping to choose, sadly many of them lived in London. But I did meet one who comes to my area on occasion and I liked the look of him.

He worked for Google, and seemed intelligent and a bit geeky sexy. So I swiped.

He liked me back so I said hi.

'Hi', he replied.

I asked him the general sort of questions:

'What do you do? Any kids? Hobbies? Blah blah' ( I didn't write blah blah!)

He just said he had two kids.

I asked him some other stuff. He just replied with one word answers.

'You're chatty!'I stated.

His reply was ':)'

Then nothing.

For a month.

Then he liked my photo again.

So I said 'Hi' again.

Nothing.

For a month.

Then he liked my photo again, the same one!

I said 'Hi' again! Again, nothing!

I asked him if he really wanted to be on a dating app! His response?

'I think I might have a personality disorder!'

No kidding!!
