Lucy was excited to see Cat walking past. Asking Roman to watch the table briefly, she grabbed her gift for Cat and hurried after her, grabbing the edge of her sleeve and tugging on it to hopefully stop her. With all her time now over at Roman's, she didn't see her friends at the Commune that often, especially since Cat seemed to have retreated even further into the space.

When the other turned around, she lifted the carving she'd been working on for a long time Cat, looking up at her and hoping it made the other smile, at least a little.

Lucy brightened when she saw Cat across the way, releasing Roman's hand voluntarily for the first time to hurry over and fling her arms around the older woman's waist. "I came back," she said softly, hoping that made Cat feel better about the whole thing.

Lucy had witnessed Cat's slow downward spiral and felt bad for the young woman. She recognized that feeling of helplessness, that desire to want to do things to gain some kind of control over one's life. They learned the hard way that sometimes the avenues one took to simulate that control could hurt others and oneself. She didn't like the thought of Cat hurting herself. The young woman had always been kind to her.

Stepping into the room where Cat was currently sleeping, she set a simple carving of a cat on the bedside table next to Cat, sliding it a little closer to make sure Cat saw it as soon as she woke up. Lucy turned, then, doing their best to sneak back out of the room.

Lucy wasn't sure how to help the new girl. It wasn't like she was the most welcoming person herself. She didn't know how to comfort people, and she didn't know how to talk someone off a ledge she was standing on herself. But just being around the others at the commune had helped her, so maybe if she was just present that would help.

She approached slowly, sliding into a seat near Cat. She looked at the young woman, trying to think of a good opener and coming up blank.

"Hi," she said after a long moment.
