I found myself positioned at the top of the carpet standing in the location when Clint Eastwood’s hand and feet prints had been added in cement back in 1984. The yellow carpet led to inside the legendary Graumans Chinese Theatre now known as the TCL Chinese Theatre. The cast of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” were an hour away and we were hidden from the public view by a large fabric barrier surrounded by security. Besides, myself there were about 50 photographers and videographers targeted against the step and repeat in front of them. It’d be the second time I’d shoot Danny DeVito and his daughter Lucy within three days. They weren’t the first to arrive but they did come early. Danny always riffs on the carpet. (It’s like a free comedy show for us) When one photographer called for Danny, “saying, can you and your wife turn towards me.” Danny quickly responded She’s not m wife. She’s my daughter. There was moans followed a bit of a hush. Then Danny followed it up with, “I know you’re new to the business but you’ll get the hang of it soon enough” everyone then laughed. The photographer has been shooting for many years but wasn’t up on Danny’s marital status. Lucy had accompanied Danny on Sunday for the Emmy Party. Danny was beeping with pride because of her being with him.
