HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY CANADIAN ANGEL.
THANK YOU MY GEORGIAN CUPCAKE <3
"I forgot my keys."
Nico looked up from his book where he was lounged on the couch, only his boxers on. He hadn't even bothered to shower yet, wanting to finish the last portion of whatever he had left. He had heard the door open, but after the period of time that had passed, Nico figured it was Arabelle come to yell at him about something. Instead, it was Riley. He smirked before closing the book and moving to the kitchen, grabbing the key ring around his index finger and spinning them around as he made his way back towards her. When Nico stood in front of her, he was towering over her, wanting some amount of fear to go through her veins.
"I knew you'd come back, short stuff."
"Was this meant to be a date?"
Sio choked on her drink, eyes wide at the shock that came with Mariah’s statement. Sure, it wasn’t a secret that everyone in their little group were together in one way or another, but they had never really defined anything between any of them, only Sio and Cypher having the definition of “girlfriend/boyfriend”. But she supposed that since they had gone out by themselves to eat Italian, a rarity that was thanks to Siobhan’s birthday coming recently and a surplus of money coming from her father and grandparents.
"Why-" She cleared her throat, taking a sip of the wine to help. "Why would you think that? No one else wanted to come, and I just-" Siobhan shrugged, then went back to eating her food, a small scowl on her face from embarrassment.
"When the moon tells you something, believe it."
They were both sitting on the floor of the kitchen, the moon shining in through the windows. Everyone else was asleep in the two beds, and Siobhan wanted to make sure they didn't wake anyone up. Cypher had given her a worried look when she crawled out from between him and Luce, but she had simply shook her head before he was dozing off again, moving over to gather the warmth of Luce in her absence.
Mariah was looking up at the full moon, empty bottle next to them. Sio thought that it wasn't fair for someone so young, the youngest of them all, to be so tormented with pain like Mariah was.
"What about when it disappears and the sun tells you the truth?"
"This way! This way! ... Other way! Other way!"
Siobhan was dashing through the crowd of people, trailing behind Mariah who had her had circled around Sio's wrist as she dragged her along. The twins had decided to dare them to a friendly competition of who could get away with doing something illegal at the festival they had crashed. Mariah had decided that climbing on top of Sio's shoulders and flashing the band that was playing would be at the top, but of course a guard had saw them and now was trying to remove them from the area.
"Alex is going to kill us when he finds out what we did," Sio said, sighing with a small smile as they continued to try and evade the security.
"You have a bad habit of interfering."
Allison lowered the crossbow that had been aimed at Aria's forehead, the girl taking her by surprise when Allison turned the corner. Her eyes narrowed, head tilting slightly at the words that left the banshee's mouth, as if she were the one in the right and Allison were in the wrong. "If you mean protecting the people of this town to the best of my ability, then I wouldn't exactly call it a bad habit."
"You shouldn't even be here. You know how dangerous it is right now."
“You know, sometimes I wonder why you like me.”
Allison looked over at Aria and frowned before continuing to make her way through the woods, bow ready to be drawn back and loose in arrow into some threat's throat. So far they hadn't run into anyone, or anything, but Allison was still waiting for it to happen.
"My best friend thought she was going insane. She went through what you are, and even if I'm not a banshee, I still want to be able to help you the best I can." She shrugged, eyes still skimming the darkness. "So I don't know if I can say I like you, or if I feel as if I owe something to Lydia."
