time-lapse: how long have you been writing (as a hobby or for work)?em: i think my first attempts at writing were around age 10, when i started reading fantasy. i was really, really into elves.Lo: First thing I can really remember writing comes back to me from middle school? I was probably eleven or twelve. It was a CSI:NY fanfiction in this notebook that I remember hiding in my room so no one could find it. Not that I knew what fanfiction was at the time, I was just writing my own episode in my mind. 

faulkner: what tropes do you LOVE writing? which ones are your guilty pleasure?em: FRIENDS!! TO!! LOVERS!! and literally anything domestic, especially if kids are involved. (if i tell myself enough that i’m not projecting, it’ll be true, right?)Lo: I’m with Em. We both have a lot of fun with friends to lovers and domestic things. I also adore fake dating/marriage.

ink: what do you do to “set the mood” when writing?

music! i know that’s not a v original answer lol but it’s what i got; i listen to film scores and other purely instrumental music to get me in the zone for whatever scene i’m trying to write. tbh it’s a bit of an art form tho bc i have to make it so that i don’t get so into the music i’m listening to i forget to actually write, but i don’t want to keep it so subtle i’m not feeling it??? so usually the remedy is to put on a playlist of songs i’ve never heard before (even if it’s wordless i can still get caught up in my favorite themes,,)

narrator: what pov do you prefer to write in?

i guess i always sway toward limited third-person!  tbh i haven’t written much in first person since like high school essays lol so i don’t have much experience with others; but i think it’s easier for me to find my own voice in addition to characterising with third person.  usually i have a lot of worldbuilding to do so i have that little bit of wise voice-over effect occasionally that first person doesn’t always allow lol.
