Installation shots of my work PASSING (the emerging-art curator; the digital artist; the art collector; the art advisor), 2019 for the group exhibition Lust der Täuschung.
More about the work: This series of 3D prints of designer sneakers function as signifiers of art world personas. Given the importance of “image” today, fashion contributes immensely towards strategies of “passing” (the ability to be regarded as a member of a different identity group, including ethnicity and profession). The increasing quality of 3D printing and the fakes industry complicate the “passing” paradigm. But when trying to "pass", who’s more likely to be scrutized? Fashion may fuel late-stage capitalism as well as enable social mobility, but to what extent?
