Watched Luger Code 1951 b/c I was craving werewolf content. Its a short 25ish min ova.
It's not very good. It does have werewolves in it and we do get to see a transformation.
Also apparently they have the same sexist werewolf tropes in Japan. Which is… fun. (in this setting she-wolves don't typically transform and this one doesn't fight at all to save her own damn life)
I will give it points for having a good werewolf design for exactly one werewolf, showcased the 'werewolves can command regular wolves' ability, included a 'werewolves can shapeshift into the people they've eaten' ability which is nice, and had the werewolves be the ones winning the human vs werewolf war b/c one side is bullet proof shapeshifting monsters that can communicate telepathically over long distances and the other side is just humans with guns
[ID: A screen capture of a werewolf from the film mid-transformation with the subtitles '-devoured him the other day'. The werewolf is a pale skinned man with brown hair, yellow-green wolf-like eyes, with his jaw and ears elongating. He is wearing a brown coat with a white fur trim, visible from the shoulders up only with the background being a cloudy sunset. /End ID]
[ID: Three screen captures of werewolves from the film. The first two are of a fully transformed werewolf with grey and white fur. The werewolf is humanoid with a hunched posture, wolf-like head, long dark mane and tail, overly long arms with hand-like paws, and digitigrade legs. This werewolf is also bleeding from its right eye from an injury. In the first picture is showing only its head, neck, and shoulders facing the viewer snarling. The second picture shows its full body and holding up a man in a military uniform up by one arm.
The third picture shows the other type or werewolf in the film. This werewolf is completely human looking other than his wolf tail and wolf ears, both of which have white fur and the character has white hair. /End ID]
