Clashing waves and lost memories X Minseok + Luhan
"Minseok, Minseok! Come here and look! There are dolphins out there! See?"
The 4 year old ran happily to his friend. They were in China on vacation, they went there every month or other month or his parents simply sent the by out to meet their friends and their son, Luhan. They were friends ever since they were born, perhaps just having a few months to separate them. Their parents being childhood friends it was almost inevitable.
This time it was only Minseok around, he stayed over at Luhan's house for a while and then came back to Korea. It seemed like every month one side would visit the other and even if they couldn't physically see each other their parents held video chats every night and kept their friendship blooming. Minseok was so happy every time he got to see Luhan in person though, that most times he couldn't stop clinging to him.
When Luhan pointed towards the dolphins, Minseok stopped and stared in awe, taking Luhan's hand in his small one and holding on it tightly. "Ge, one day let's swim with the dolphins, okay? We can take a boat and swim with them!" He grinned happily at the other while Luhan's mother called the two over to eat some watermelon.
The day at the beach. It was one of the happiest days in his life. So calm, pure and innocent. It was only a few years before the running and moving around started, slowly making the two drift apart and lose contact with each other.
Xiumin sat on the grass in what he assumed to be a park and heaved a sigh, closing his eyes without a real reason to and letting his fingers run over the soft substance. It was a bit dry at some parts, Xiumin thought the rough and pointy part must be brown while the softer side is probably green but he couldn't quite recall the colors anymore, not really.
That day on the beach seemed so long ago, he couldn't even remember how Luhan looked like the last time he saw him. Now Xiumin was alone and all their forever and ever seemed so far away; he didn't even know if Luhan was alive anymore, and even if he was he was probably still in China. With a small pout he wondered if his parents meant to go to China as they decided to escape Korea. Probably yes, he was probably just a few hours away from being always with Luhan but it all ended because of whatever happened to the world that day.
"Luhan ge, I'm sorry we never got to swim with the dolphins."
