"is it always this busy here?" anya asked the guy who's name she had already forgotten. she was in the back taking a much needed smoke break and when he joined her she didn't mind. she just...wasn't always the best with the silence. "this is my first time being sent here....so if you have any tips on surviving the night, i'll take it. not that i think i won't but...tips are always appreciated."

Thorn was more than aware that she needed to stop going to places that tempted her worst vices. She was fully aware that she probably shouldn’t be drinking and that she really shouldn’t be dancing with a bunch of strangers in some nightclub. She was more than aware that Dusk and Luna were going to be disappointed in her and she was going to be even more disappointed in herself. The sad fact was, Thorn felt herself starting to slip and she didn’t want her girls to know how bad this time was. Ever since she met that guy in a superhero costume she felt off, she felt like she really was stuck in a town that she was never escaping from and that all of her hard work to keep calm was for nothing. She was feeling hopeless and so her reaction was to not feel anything.

After dancing for a little while she found herself heading towards the bar again, pushing her hair back and seeing who she could talk to in the quest to further her goal to feel numb. The guy next to her was cute, she wasn’t sure if it was in a hot way or sort of adorable way, but then again what Thorn considered cute or adorable was not the standard for cute and adorable. “What’re you drinking?” she asked, leaning over so that he could hear her. “I’m in the mood to go out of my comfort zone.”

"i was starting to think i was being stood up. what a bother that would have been," meg said dryly as luis made his way over to her. honestly, if he would have bailed she not only would not have taken it personally, but she would have just moved on and found other company. she wasn't the type to really care about much these days. just seeking the next rush as she tried to ignore that gnawing feeling in her mind that things were...off. she enjoyed luis's company because he seemed to feed on the chaotic side of her life and sometimes that was just what she needed. "can i order you a drink or are we skipping the formalities tonight?"

once the high of performing was more than done, thorn did the worst thing she could possibly do for herself and celebrated. one beer turned into a few and then she was wondering around kind of aimlessly as it grew later and the glow from the rides illuminated the festival. all of her worst choices tended to be after a show and she was trying not to make that a habit but it was so easy falling into old habits. it was a lot better than reminding herself she was still stuck in evermore at least. as she made her way for a water this time to try and sober up and not make a complete fool of herself, she noticed someone was hovering near the little drinks area and she tilted her head trying to get a good look. “hey, don’t i know you or something? you look eerily familiar...”
