I've wanted to produce this image for quite some time and now #LuizaandtheCrew are representing their love for the #LowerEastSide in a poster and on a #tshirt! I am almost done with commissions and after those are done, I'll be getting back to work on my stories! I have so many stories to tell and so many ways I want to put them out that while I was at work, I'd draw on #postits to keep my pen fresh! Inspired by Greg Anderson Elysée, and his short stories for Isnana the WereSpider, I've decided to write and illustrate a few 8 page shorts featuring #LuizaandtheCrew, show her supporting cast some love, and in turn, show some different cultures some love in Pop Culture. . . . This venture has me researching #Ghana and in doing so, I learned that people from Ghana name their children according to the day they were born. I realized that I needed to change Quentin's name to Kwame as he is Saturday born. I want to show respect to the people I write about and help bring positive stories to the world that dont usually see the light of day. I hope to honor Ghana and it's people with Kwame and his story, and this image is what will inspire the cover of his chapter! . . . This will also be my very first self published comic, published in a traditional format with word balloons and all! I am excited to try this transition and I hope you stick around for the ride. All of the "A Reason to Smile!" Books have been published due to my kickstarter projects and this will be on there as well.
