Summary:
Nino and Luka weren't meant to meet, but if they did, shouldn't they get along? Marinette thinks so: they're both sensitive, and kind, and musical.
Yet when their eyes meet across the music audition, sparks fly. Luka thinks Nino is lazy, imprecise, and nontechnical; Nino thinks Luka is stuck up, unimaginative, and repetitive. Both of them are certain that the other person is boring.
On the other hand, Marinette loves them both. Isn't that endorsement enough?
This mostly spawns from my love of both Lukanette and Lukalix, but I also adore Ninette and Lukanino.
Just think about it. They’re all creative types that come in different flavours.
Alix is the snarky and sporty street-art tomboy, Luka is the chill and level-headed lead guitarist, Nino is the friendly and big hearted DJ, and Marinette is the confident and sweeter-than-sugar fashion designer.
Every creative character has liked Marinette at some point, why not Alix too? Alix especially, because although she likes tall boys that are either competitive or soft, she loves girls who are twice as fierce and passionate about art (also girls who are heckin strong physically). Marinette would love her tough tiny pink girlfriend, and she thinks their names fit perfectly, eg: Marix.
Lukalix is adorable because 1. The height difference and 2. It’s the archetype of the caring and passive guy with the stubborn and impulsive girl that act super cute together because of how unique their approaches are in expressing their love. Luka is very straight-forward verbally and physically and while Alix gets so unbelievably flustered over this smooth boy that she blurts out how much she likes him too.
Ninette is great because how badly Nino fumbles around Marinette since she’s just so goddamn amazing. Marinette is secretly also a massive mess, but she’s also very reassuring toward Nino and she’d say that he’s rather cute when he’s finding it hard to form a sentence. These two have similar energies when it comes to approaching love but support each other the same way and to the extreme.
Aghhh Lukanino! If Nino fumbles around Marinette he would be a wreck around Luka because like I said with Lukalix, this boy is as smooth as butter and has good flirting skills. Luka would try to casually say that he wants to collab with Nino for a new song and Nino is like “Oh sure, it’s for Kitty Section, right?” And Luka would be like.... “Actually I was thinking it’d be just you and me working on it.”
Lukanette would be similar to how it is in canon, except Marinette is more decisive with what she wants and would flirt back with Luka. These two would have so much tension between them, and others would be shocked when they find out they’re not dating yet. They constantly praise each other and try to subtly express how much they care for one another without making it too obvious.
Nino and Alix (Ninix) is basically “friends to lovers slow-burn”, because they only realise that they love each other after dating Marinette and Luka for over a year. Before dating, they’re good friends and the conversation about their feelings goes like “Okay, so you have a crush on Marinette and Luka, I have a crush on Marinette and Luka, and they are both crushing on each other... I think I know what this means... we should all date each other.” But before they get together, Luka and Marinette are always stressing over how oblivious their boyfriend and girlfriend are with their very apparent romantic feelings
