At the Mahers

Lukas wants to ask something to his father but he is hesitant. His father has been in a bad mood and the relationship between him and his father isn't the best.

Howard is in his study, buzy thinking about his future. Will he end up in jail for what he has done? What will the people say about it? What will the church do? How will his business survive?

Lukas finaly brings up the courage

Lukas: Dad?

Howard: What Lukas?

Lukas: Can I have some friends over tonight? Malcolm Landgra...

Howard: NO! Get out!

And Lukas is of to his room, hiding. Hoping for a day he will be old enough with enough money to move out.

Lukas Maher had a fight with his dad....

Dear diary,

My mom had another baby, a boy this time. My dad is thrilled with another son. My mom had three girls between me and my baby brother. Because of the baby my dad has to do a lot more for us, childeren, then normally. I'm always scared for this moment when my mom announces another pregnancy to us. I don't like it when my father has to take care of us.

This time I wanted to talk about something. I went of to his study where he was working and sat down. He looked up from his screen, already with frowns on his face. I was scared but still wanted to say what I came to say.

While I told him what was bottering me he was still typing. He didn't really have attention for me, as always. Work comes before me.

When he found out what I wanted he started yelling at me for making him pauze with working for that. But he didn't even stop working to listen. While he yelled, my baby sister, Thirza, came in the room. She was so scared that she ran to my sister Lydia as fast as she could.

But Thirza is can't run very good yet, so she fall and cried even harder then before. I went upstairs, cralled in a corner and hoped my father wouldn't come after me.

At the Maher's family

Christine just gave birth to baby Rebecca. She can't take care of all the childeren like she usually does. Howard has to do some parenting. Lukas, 6 years old, came home a little bit to late for his fathers taste.

Howard: Where have you been?

Lukas: I was just playing with friends. You know, Alexander Goth and Titus Leppert.

Howard: You are late! You should have been earlier. No diner for you!

Lukas has tears in his eyes and snifs a bit

Lukas: I know dad, I'm sorry.

Howard: Man up! Lukas! You are not a baby! Go to your room!

Lukas' tears run down his cheeks

Lukas: Yes, dad

Lukas runs upstairs

Howard: And don't come down until I say so!
