The Story of Lumbridge in 60 Seconds - Runescapes Condensed History, basically I'm putting together these for various places, hopefully one a week!
Was waiting on a name change before I started posting. It finally happened!
Here she is, meet Tile Shiar. A lonely girl making her way through Gilenor. Cursed by the Gods, restricting her movement to her experience.
My first gif. I very much enjoy the new Guard Captain look. Also see him on my twitter: https://twitter.com/Smockzy1/status/1368343069058158597?s=20
Lumbridge and the Art of Being a Noob
I'm excited to be playing Runescape Classic for the first time. It's cool to be experiencing the initial graphics, gameplay and sound effects that were created in the Gower brothers' kitchen! The NPCs and monsters look amazing. The love and care brought forth by Andrew and his family radiates in RSC (the restless ghost looks awesome, the cooking sound effects are Foley by Andrew's mom, the goblin's walking animation is one of a kind).
I love starting fresh with a new account. The "explore as you go" and "create your own adventure" aspect is exciting during early gameplay. It was especially exciting when I first started RS2 in '05 and I didn't have the slightest clue on what to do. My cousin had a better grasp on the game, and he would offer me advice and introduce me to certain tasks that would help me level up and/or earn GP.
A few memorable moments during these noobish times were:
Mining copper and tin ore at the Southeast Varrock mine.
Fighting cows in the Lumbridge cow field.
Spinning wool at the Lumbridge Castle.
Tanning cowhides in Al Kharid.
These were simple times. I would put on an emo iTunes playlist, or listen to a Hi My Name Is Mark podcast, check my AOL Instant Messanger and range lumby cows alongside other new players (ranged fan here). I love being a noob. The act of figuring out how the game works and exploring diverse skills/quests feels pretty stress free at a lower level. When I first started playing RuneScape, there wasn't a push for an early Elvarg kill, not much of a care for XP rates, no reason for fast GP, it was more about chatting and playing with friends who were also learning the game. Currently, I am taking the opportunity to be a newbie all over again with Runescape Classic. ⚔️
Tile Shiar in her bee keeper top, lederhosen bottoms, and steel full helm. Armed with a mithril battle axe and oak shield. Definitely a force to be reckoned with.
