Hmm. I find it amusing that out of all the blogs I’ve made, this one has the least interaction even though it’s the one I’m most attached to.

In a way, that’s almost reassuring, as though trying to tell me “see, nobody’s looking, this can be your safe space. Open up just a little bit more.”

It’s tempting to indulge. Frightening, too. I’m most comfortable when in the safety of the half-visible, the liminal space between transparency and obscurity.

But of late I feel that old, near-primal urge surface again. Something akin to almost a paranoia, a compulsion, a complex. To measure my existence by the marks I leave on the world - as if, if I do not, I cannot prove to myself that I existed those days at all. As much as I’m averse to direct attention, neither do I wish to fade from existence.

And so I am here again. I don’t know what will come of this, or if I’ll succeed in my (nebulous) goals - but, nearly a decade later, I suppose it’s about time.
