WHO: Narcissa & OPEN WHERE: The Selwyn's NYE Ball

With the ball in full swing, Narcissa had taken the opportunity of a free moment to slip out on to one of the balconies for a seat and a breather away from the crowds. While it was nice to be surrounded by only those that were worthy enough to attend such an event, being pregnant was certainly taking its toll on her ability to mingle for lengthy periods of time.

Glancing up when she heard someone approach, Narcissa offered a welcoming smile. "Hello. Enjoying your evening so far?"

Enjoying a party that for once she didn't organize, Agatha felt free to roam around and actually enjoy herself, no need to be tending to details and demands as per usual. It was a lovely night, so many people had showed up and it promised to be even better as they all welcomed together a new year. A glass of champagne in hand, the witch quickly apologized as she almost knocked it over someone as they ran into each other. "Oh Nick, how silly of me, all too distracted." She offered a bright smile. "Are you enjoying yourself?"

Any party was a good party, a place to connect and most of all, a place to celebrate, even if the thing in question was life itself. New Year Eve, an event unlike any other. Weddings were one thing, these types of annual things something else all together. It certainly had caused the blonde to turn into even more of a hawk, glancing around the room, scanning the crowd as though it held answers only Estelle could see. Every now and then she threw a nod one way, or another to greet the odd guest.

Until her eyes landed on a familiar figure that the former Slytherin wouldn’t mind bumping into. “Not one for leaving out a party, hm?” The witch moved over, leaning against a pillar next to the refreshments, a soft smirk on her lips. “Good to see you. For now.” Her words were playful, despite it all. “Anything interesting to be found?” Estelle had no doubt he would know what she meant.

She'd had the most marvellous night ever, all her dreams coming true in what seemed like a split second. The wizard she loved had finally proposed to her in the way she'd always wanted, and Agatha was now more than happy to say she was betrothed. She went pass the crowd, quickly thanking people as they congratulated her on the betrothal, but she was looking for one person in particular. She needed to share the news with her best friend in the world, the one who knew just how much this meant for her, how long and how bad she'd been wishing for it. The witch spotted Rita easily, seeing that she was looking for her too, tears streaming down her face in excitement as she reached her friend. "I'm engaged, Rita!" She blurted out, words she thought she'd never get to say, the emotion clear on her voice and the grin spreading wide on her lips.

He knew she'd come by eventually, at least that's what she said, if her words could be trusted any longer. Still, the wizard waited patiently for the moment where he saw the witch come through the doors, ready to guide her away from the crowd and share his thoughts with her. He wasted no time, making his way towards the witch in the red flowers dress and pulling her by her hand and into a separate room. He gave her a moment to adjust herself, standing at a distance, hands in his pockets. "Fashionably late, darling?" He asked nonchalantly, charming notes on his tone as usual, his eyes scanning her features as if to see any trace of regret or even guilt. His next words weren't as smooth, his expression shifting to allow his discontent to show. "A bloody liar, as well, it seems to be."

He felt disappointed and betrayed, for Evan trust was one of the most important things there were, and apparently his fiancee didn't share his view on the matter. Annoyed to find himself alone at this sort of event, the wizard couldn't help but smile as one of his closest friends joined him by the bar. If Alara chose to be out having fun with other people, what stopped him from having his own fun as well? "Val, darling, looking gorgeous as ever." He greeted the witch, placing a kiss on her cheek and making his proposition with a wink of his eye. "May I interest you in sharing a drink with me?"

Asides from Emir's proposal to Agatha, the night had been anything if not dreadful for the wizard. He'd come to the party without his fiancee as she had to work late, except he'd gone by her shop before coming to her family's manor and found it not only closed but no trace of his lovely bride to be. He'd immediately called for his elf to go seek her, perhaps she was in danger or got lost along the way, but the news he received were even worse. To be lied to, left standing alone in a party her own family was throwing to favour attending another, with people she shouldn't be mingling with-- well, that was a whole lot more than Evan was willing to stand. A glass of brandy on his hand, taking a large sip as he'd had all night long, he turned his head at the sound of a familiar voice. "Emma, darling, doubt I'll be good company tonight. Not in the mood."
