harley was sweet, luna knew that but it still made her nervous every time they came around despite her protests and this time was no different as she stood inside her trailer with the door closed. "harley please just go away." she pleased with them quietly, "i told you, it's not safe to be my friend."

she hadn't talked to zel in what felt like years for her and maybe it had actually been by then, the days blended together more and more lately. luna wasn't expecting or prepared to see him today so when she did see him she panicked and tried to hide but it was to late and she was stood there like a deer stuck in headlights. "h-hi," she managed to mumble out.

“No, you’re just mad Asparagus likes to lay on me instead of you!” She was Zehra's cat, so Luna didn't blame her for being angry about it. She does the same when Bushka chooses to greet Zehra first when they come in.

But this was one victory in a war with several failures and white flags for Luna - she wasn't going to let Zehra have another victory. Her pride was too strong, and both of their stubbornness would always get the better of them.

Sure, she left out the purring and making biscuits on her legs part… but was that relevant? “Actually no, you’ve been mad that she likes me at all! It’s not my fault that animals like me, it’s -" She starts sputtering, trying to put the words into the right order. "My job depends on that. I just know how to understand them, which you don't put any effort towards! Maybe if you looked up animal behavior and treated them with respect in their own language, they'll actually like you!”

Why were they arguing about this? Luna couldn’t even remember what started this, even as she literally pointed her finger at Zehra, her brow furrowed as she stared down at her. Why was this making her so angry?

Because it was how she felt about their relationship, too, after one year of pretending to be a couple. What was supposed to be a few nights out turned out to be so… complicated. It’d leave her high on love one night, and crying herself to sleep the next. She didn’t get it. What were they trying to do? All they mostly did behind closed doors were argue or not talk at all. An attempt at talking regularly could become this blow-out.

And Luna realizes this, tears blurring her vision so she forces them shut. She’s silent for a few moments before letting out a sigh, releasing the tension that had built up over the fight. It was a pointless argument. If Zehra hadn't put in the effort to try to understand Luna after all this time when she was trying so hard to learn what Zehra appreciated most, what was the point?

“You’re lying! Please tell me you’re lying!” Why did she wish that when it was happy news that made her bounce her weight between her feet? “I don’t wanna believe this - don’t get my hopes up like this.”

Ah yes, work. Despite the great owners and general atmosphere, she found herself dreading every shift. Each day, she couldn’t pinpoint why she got that feeling of dread deep in her gut. That feeling only multiplied during her shift. Was she still sick? It was a possibility, but Luna put it out of her mind. She'd already missed so many shifts the past month, she knew she couldn’t possibly miss another for something that felt so minuscule and yet so overwhelming. 

During one of her breaks, she couldn’t wait to get to a spot away from the public eye - on the opposite side of where the majority of their patrons were. She was ready to slump down in the booth and pretend nothing existed when she ran head-first into someone else on her way there. At first, she only muttered before actual words came sputtering out. “What-What are you doing over here? Haven’t you stopped by the hostess yet?”

Oh no, the other person in the elevator looked like they knew what they were doing in life. Because of that, Luna only pressed the button she needed to press and refused to look them in the eye. Just be as awkward as possible, feeling like an egg. At first, she thought someone had requested the elevator while they were going down. But the doors never opened. In a moment of confusion, she pressed every floor button repeatedly in hopes something would work. But it didn't! Why now?! "This doesn't seem good," was the first thing she said aloud. As if it wasn't obvious! "Not good at all."

Waiting was always the worst part of life, and Luna’s life always seemed to filled with it. At the very least, she was going to have fun while she did it. So why not take a look at what was in stock? One particular dress she pulled out and put against herself while it was still on the hangar. She turned toward Genevieve, putting on the most dramatic show she could muster. “Do I look... chic?” Even she couldn’t take it - so she laughed. “Is that even what people call it? I’m so sorry, I have no idea what fashion is anymore. I lost track the second I couldn’t stay a scene teen.”
