what's going on with sherlock?? is the epp not on tonight??? what's this about leaks? leaks of what?? i'm so confused, and out of it
No, it’s definitely still on tonight!
The story behind the leak is that yesterday, around 10:30am EST, a Russian dub of The Final Problem, (the same version that was shown at the BFI screening, if you want to believe in the Clue/multiple version theory) was released online. Chaos ensued, but mostly on tumblr because almost no one who works on the show acknowledged it or made an attempt to take it down. It was an HD rip that they began to publicly advertise on both the official Sherlock and Twitter pages. You can see all my posts related to this under my “tfp leak” tag.
Then, this morning, I’m assuming some time around 7/7:30 am EST, another leak surfaced, this time from the Turkish site that streams the show. This video is in English. Since then, BBC news has posted an official announcement about it on their website, and made an announcement on the radio. We have yet to hear about this from Mark, and strangely Amanda, who has a history of going straight for peoples throats about spoilers.
We’ve made HD gifsets and thousands of posts about the content of this episode, but none of it has been taken down, unlike that single chess promo that they made such a big deal about. Which is why most people believe this episode is actually fake, and that the real one will air tonight.
