A moonbow or lunar rainbow is a rare, faint rainbow caused by moonlight reflecting off water droplets (rain or mist) at night, appearing white to the naked eye but showing colors in long-exposure photos, because it's much dimmer than a sun rainbow.

The sky was awesome the night before last. There were even clouds blanketing the mountains: the ones you’re seeing just below the tops of the Lombardy poplars!

I know it’s bad quality and fuzzy, but that’s just how my phone registers things in the dark as far as I know, and I’m not the greatest at taking pictures😭 But honestly, I think the soft edges add to the essence of the clouds and the moonlight.

The third one, though, is actually out of focus lol. I included it even though the lack of focus had been unintentional, because it looks dreamy like that imo lol.

(Although none of this comes close to capturing how beautiful it was irl.)

Photographer Captures Stunning, Rare Double Moonbow

We've all seen rainbows, but have you ever witnessed a moonbow? Also known as a lunar rainbow, this optical phenomenon happens when moonlight is refracted through water droplets in the air. They're rarer than rainbows, which makes photographer Aaron Watson‘s image of a double moonbow even more special.

Watson of Skies-Alive Photography captured the incredible image in Colorado around 2 a.m., just one day before August's Supermoon Blue Moon.

A genderspace term that relates to moonbows. One may associate their identity with the sky, space, prisms, muted rainbows, the moon, and, generally, moonbows.

This term could also be used more metaphorically in the sense that one who is Moonbowic may feel like their identity is vaguely reflecting a more clear identity. (For example: someone may be catgender, but feel like it's a "diluted" and less "full" than just catgender.)
