Sorry if you’re getting sick of Heated Rivalry chat, but I just find it funny, after seeing the anon mention fans talking about Connor and Hudson being like J2.
These fans are going insane about two guys that are cute together in interviews, but who don’t remotely raise “couple” flags to me. I’d be prepared to bet money that Connor and Hudson aren’t doing. And their characters have good chemistry. Good, not great, in the show.
But we are going to compare these guys to J2? J2 who played 2 brothers who were so codependent and in love (minus the sexual part) on screen that they launched thousands of fan fics? J2 who have such amazing chemistry that they kept a show if ever-declining quality on air for 15 years? J2 who still have amazing chemistry 5 years after their show ended? J2 who helped raiseratch each other’s kids at one point, and vacationed together when weren’t filming. I can tell you honestly, I’m less confident that J2 never hooked up than I am that C&H aren’t dating.
But those are the tame fans. I don’t agree with their perspectives, but they aren’t my real issue.
The only thing I see in common between SPN and HR fans, is increasingly vulgar and over-stepping fan girls. The amount of creepy objectifying HR fans do over their guys is gross, like talking about characters and people’s asshokes and butts non-stop. If guys commented that much and that publicly speculating about women’s boobs and vag, they’d be virtually tarred and feathered . TBH, SPN fans gross me out sometimes too, even the wincesties or J2 shippers (this is mostly hellers that are the grossest about real people, but not only). There are surly some lines we don’t have to jerk off all over in public? Surly some comments can stay private with murals, if they need to be made, and other sex scenarios can stay in fan fic sites? Especially if they are about the real people.
I feel sort of fed up with all fandoms right now. Can we normalize not being hypocritical assholes who treat guys like pieces of meat while also screaming about toxic masculinity and misogynists for five minutes?
There’s no shame in finding people hot, but can we not tag actual actors when talking about how we want to see their “bussy” get wrecked FFS?

Anyway, I’m glad J2 spend less time online now than ever. And I hope Conor and Hudson have therapists to help them weather their current shitstorm of parasocial fan girls (and boys and whoever, but we know it’s mostly girls).

Nobody bats an eye at shipping if it is for fun and stays in fandom. Even RPF shipping is totally okay if it stays within the lines of respect and boundaries. Golden rule is, you NEVER drag the actors into your RPF with tagging them. It's absolutely nuts how parasocial lunatics behave these days. They all need straitjackets and a padded cell because they left the plain of reality and normaly so far behind them, they are ticking time bombs.
