i'm interested in your thoughts on cassandra's completely ignorant and racist comments at the temple of mythal, especially considering how she's usually (comparatively to other characters) considerate of other cultures... i tend to believe it was just an out of character moment but you always have good insights so i thought i'd ask

I do not think it’s out of character, I think Cassandra just has very little regard for beliefs other than Andrastianism. But to be specific to Lavellan and the Elven Pantheon:

You get disapproval from her for simply saying that you do not believe in the Maker. Like, you’re not at all saying she can’t believe, just that you don’t believe. But she disapproves. This happens a few times.

She asks you if you do not believe in the Maker, and if you say no, you believe in your own gods, she has that famously ignorant line, (paraphrasing) “And do you not have room for one more?” Like. Are you gonna start believing in all the elven gods then, Cassandra? How about the Stone, too? The Qun? The old gods? The Avvar gods? Or does this only go one way, hmm? And it’s insulting for more reasons than one.

Likewise, you also get disapproval from her for simply saying “You realize I’m an elf. A Dalish elf.”
