Sorry to bother you, but what did you think of the Nezha and Li Jing side plot in s5? I’m still not sure what to think about it, and you’re probably the person I trust most with lmk analysis.
Granted, I'm not well versed on Ne Zha Li Jing mythos, but as for their lmk verisons—this is exactly what I expected. Like, lmk has never been a sort of "cut characters off when they make bad choices" story, and maybe part of it is the confucianist origins of jttw, but this is a pretty consistent thread. This is how Wukong and the Demon Bull Family have been handled, so idk why it would be a problem now. As far as what was shown in-show, Li Jing's actions were pretty reasonable for me. His goals were basically "put people in the pagoda and hope that stops the end of the world", and you know, for the knowledge he had that wasn't a super ridiculous plan. The end of 5x06 shows how scared he was, just like everyone else, and being faced with the end of the world put things into perspective for him. He's also there, like functionally, so that the celestial realm has some form of leadership even with the absence of the Jade Emperor, and Ne Zha got his own little arc that foiled Azure's (where he made the right choice in 5x06 by not fighting MK versus Azure in 5x10, the "this is not what I wanted" parallel, I'm sure there's more).
Those are just my brief thoughts
