Visiting Peace Garden Lung Ta

As part of our explorations during the months of March, April and May we have come across the Lung Ta Peace Garden near Olot in Catalunya, on the foot of the Pyrenees.

Essentially centered around a charismatic leader, Isabelle, the 72 year old woman leading the community, is not dogmatic in any way and has managed to create an incredably tolerant, respectful and free atmosphere which reminiscents of reuniting with long lost family.

At Lung Ta (Tibetan for Windhorse) there is ample space for personal development through yoga, meditation and contemplation. With regards to the latter, Tibetan and Mayan thought and mysticism form a central nexus based around the Law of Time.

Along with spiritual aspects, good company, food and drink and loving attention amongst members and visitors alike, together with the wonderful surroundings of nature bring about a true appreciation of quality of life and connected unaliable human freedoms.

While currently the gardens do not fulfill a significant part of the nutritional needs for the members and visitors, hard work is being put to extend these efforts. As with other aspects of this community, members and visitors are actively invited to creatively contribute however they can to create a more sustainable, self-sufficient and autonomous community.
