Forth lungversary today. 15.1.18. Certainly been a bizarre four years. Thanks to my wonderful tumblr friends for helping provide a much needed distraction, laughs, plenty of cute animal and beautiful things to look at.

(PART 2) things have changed in so many ways in the last 22 years. When I was transplanted there wasn't a great support system except my family and friends, which was excellent. Sometimes when you are going through something like this, you need to see and hear from someone that has been through a similar situation. Now you can get on the Internet and find groups or individuals that are going through the same things. 1995 a top of the line Dell computer cost around $4400. MSN (8-24-1995), AOL (5-24-1995), YAHOO (3-2-1995), GOOGLE (9-4-1998), YOUTUBE (2-14-2005). Cameras still used film. When I was transplanted the transplant team told me they could only say I had a chance of 10 years before I would need another lung transplant. Well 22 years later and still going strong on my first double lung transplant. I'm still active after all this time. I participate in @donatelife_ky1 events when they are in the area, I run 5k events throughout the year. On my latest clinic visit, it went as expected stable. Pulmonary Function test was 89%. Just slowing down but not giving up. The 8036 days to start the post comes from someone I follow on IG @butstillbreathing was posting the number of days since transplant, so I borrowed the idea from her. Hope she doesn't mind. Psalm 73:26 "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and portion forever." #doublelungtransplant #doublelungtransplantrecipient #lungtransplant #lungversary #lungtransplantanniversary #transplantversary #becauseofanorgandonor #lungtransplantlife #lungtransplantsurvivor #Repost @nu_partz95• • •
