Final Paper

For the final research paper I took the liberty in choosing the debating topic of animal testing. Animal testing has many different catagories there is animal testing for medical use, as wells as institutional use. I decided to look further into the topic of animals used to test houshold products such as soaps, cosmetics, and cleaning supplies. After doing much research I have decided that I am completely against the use of animal testing household products.

Scientist use animals such as rats, rabbits, dogs, and many other animals to run toxicity tests. Toxicity tests are the scientififc tests used to research the response an animal has to a product. Unfortunatly these tests cause much pain to the animals and more than 40% are killed after being used for testing. While some scientists feel the use of animals is nessesary many medical institutions have claimed that there are faster, cheaper, and more presice alternatives; These alternatives include, Epiderm, in-vitro, volunteres and micro-dosing. Using animals to conduct reasearch on our products is a thing of the past, science has come a long way so why not stop hurting inocent animals and start furthing our reasearch through safer and humane ways.

Life Long Student

I believe that to be a life-long student is to be a life-long learner and as individuals we are taught to become life-long learners at the mere age of 4 where we begin school; there we are taught everyday tasks such as social skills, how to follow rules, how to write and how to learn from the world around us, eventually everyone’s years of schooling will come to an end and while schooling may be over ones ability to  learn never will because every day the world around us faces people with social, emotional, political and physical challenges and in order to survive these challenge one must take away the skills that they were taught as children and use them to not only make an identity for oneself but to also change the way world around us is ran.

Animal Testing and Ethos

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, Ethos is “the distinguishing character, sentiment, moral nature, or guiding beliefs of a person , group, or institution.” Animal testing involves someones ethos in that some believe its the right thing to do in order to help protect humans lives. Although some contain ethos that are in favor of animal testing others feel it is an immoral thing to do. Some say that animal testing is wrong and that animals should not be abused in such ways. The topic of animal testing can have two sides but the side that someone chooses is most likley do to their guiding beliefs, or ethos, that they hold as an individual.

Assertion -Domestic violence effects everyone in the family especially the children. Children learn everything from their parents including domestic violence. Children that witness domestic violence are more likley to become abusers or victims of it in their future. 

Example - The video shows two children wearing adult shoes sitting having a tea party. During their little tea partry the  girl supposedly spills tea on the table. The boy then gets up and starts to yell at the girl eventually slapping her in ther face.

Explanation- The little boy and the girl sitting at the tea party are wearing grown up shoes in order to display that they are pretending to be adults. The little boys rampage and the little girls reponse towards it is an example of what they must learn from their parents. It is quite obvious that any normal little kid would not just play pretend in that sort of manner without seeing people act in that way before. 

Significance- This video was created to prove to us viewers that children learn everything from their parents. They interpret things exactly how they see them and if they witness domestic violence they will eventually be apart of domestic violence in their future. The key is to end the cycle of domestic violence by keeping the children from seeing it.
